“COPPELIA” COMPETITION TERMS AND CONDITIONS By entering the “Coppelia” competition (“the Competition”), you are agreeing to the following terms and conditions: 1. STANDARD TERMS 1.1 Information on how to enter the Competition forms part of these terms and conditions. 2. WHO CAN ENTER? 2.1 Subject to clauses 2.2, entry is open to all residents of Western Australia where the Channel Seven signal is received. People under the age of 18 must obtain the consent of a parent or guardian before entering. 2.2 Employees and their immediate families of Seven Network (Operations) Limited, West Australian Newspapers Ltd, Singapore Airlines and West Australian Ballet and their associated agencies and companies are not eligible to enter. 3. HOW TO ENTER 3.1 The Competition commences on Monday 24 August at 9.00am (Perth time) and concludes on Friday 4 September 2015 at 9.30am (Perth time) (“the Competition Period”). 3.2 In seven editions of The West Australian between Monday 24 August and Thursday 3 September 2015 a codeword will be printed. In order to enter the competition, entrants must complete their name, address and daytime phone number along with codeword found in The West Australian at thewest.com.au/competitions. 3.3 Entrants in the Competition may only enter once. 3.4 Completed entries must be received by 9.30am (Perth time) on Friday 4 September 2015. 3.5 All entries must be received within the Competition Period to be entered into the draw for a chance to win. 4. PRIZES 4.1 There will be five (5) minor prize winners and one (1) major prize winner. 4.2 Each Eligible Finalist will receive a minor prize consisting of two (2) “A” Premium tickets to Coppelia at His Majesty’s Theatre to be taken between 12th and 26th September; valued at $216.00 per double pass. Total value of minor prizes is $1080.00 4.3 The major prize winner will win: One (1) Trip for two (2) to Munich including: Return economy class airfares from Perth to Munich flying Singapore Airlines. ($3125.00 per person). Five (5) nights’ twin share accommodation at Hilton Munich Park (value $800.00) Two (2) tickets to the Bavarian State Ballet (value $210.00) The maximum major prize value is $7260.00 and the maximum total prize pool is valued at $8350.00. Prize values are based on the recommended retail prices at the time of printing and are subject to change at any time. Any change to prize value between the publishing date and the date the prize is claimed is not the responsibility of the Promoters. 4.4 The prize must be taken between 1 October 2015 and 31 March 2016 and flight tickets are valid for a stay away of no more than three months. The ticket validity cannot be extended and any travel not utilised by 31 March 2016 will be deemed null and void. Blackout periods may apply. 4.5 All air travel must be booked by 29 February 2016 and government and airport taxes of approximately $270 per person must be paid by then. This amount may change with the currency exchange rates. 4.6 Tickets are not eligible for frequent flyer points. The winner may choose to upgrade tickets to Business Class or First Class on applicable flights at their own expense. 4.7 The winner of the major prize (and their travelling companion) is responsible for all other expenses including but not limited to meals, incidentals, travel insurance, freight, excess baggage, visa, spending money, activities (unless specified), government and airport taxes and all transfers other than those specified. All partners strongly recommend travel insurance valid for the entire duration of the winner’s trip to protect against the additional costs incurred in the event of unforeseen circumstances. 4.8 Flights leave from Perth. If a winner is from a regional area travel arrangements in Australia to and from Perth do not form part of the prize and are the responsibility of the winner. 4.9 Accommodation at Hilton Munich Park excludes 12 & 13 February and 11-14 March 2016. 4.10 A credit card imprint or cash deposit may be required from the major prize winner at check-in to the hotel for incidental charges. 4.11 The Promoters and Sponsor makes no representation as to the safety, conditions or other issues that may exist at any destination. International travel advice can be obtained from various sources, including government, local consular offices and the website of the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade. 4.12 The winner and their travelling companion are responsible for obtaining current passport and visa before time of travel. 4.13 Flights, accommodation and ballet tickets are subject to availability at the time of booking and are non-transferable and cannot be exchanged for other destinations. Any alterations to confirmed flights and/or accommodation will be at the expense of the winner. 4.14 In participating in the prize, the winners agree to participate and co-operate as required in all editorial activities relating to the Competition, including but not limited to being interviewed and photographed. The winners (and their companions) agree to grant the Promoters a perpetual and exclusive licence to use such footage and photographs in all media worldwide and the winners (and their companions) will not be entitled to any fee for such use. 4.15 The winners agree they will not (and will ensure that their companions do not) sell or otherwise provide their story and/or photographs to any media or other organisation. 4.16 If a winner of a prize is under the age of 18 as at the date of the draw, the prize will be awarded to the winner’s parent or guardian. 4.17 Prizes cannot be transferred nor redeemed for cash. Winners should seek independent financial advice about any tax implications that may arise from the prize winnings. 4.18 Full details of prizes can be obtained at thewest.com.au/competitions 5. HOW TO WIN 5.1 Each day from Monday 31 August to Friday 4 September 2015 an entry will be drawn from all entries received to that date in accordance with these terms and conditions. Minor prize draws will take place at Channel Seven Perth at 10.00am (Perth time) each day. The name of the entrant drawn will be announced the same night on Channel Seven Perth between 7pm and 7.35pm (Perth time). Once their name has been announced, the person has 30 minutes to contact Channel Seven Perth on 9344 0777 to be registered as a finalist (“Eligible Finalist”). All Eligible Finalists will win a minor prize and go into the draw to win the major prize. Subject to clause 5.2, if a person fails to contact the station within the 30 minute timeframe they forfeit their right to the minor prize and will have no claim whatsoever. No further draws for a finalist will be made in such an instance. 5.2 A Regional Entrant that has entered the Competition, is exempt from calling the station within 30 minutes and will be an automatically be registered as a finalist. 5.3 All Eligible Finalists will be entered into the draw to win the major prize. The draw will take place at Channel Seven Perth on Monday 7 September 2015 at 10am (Perth time). The winner of the major prize will be announced that night on Channel Seven Perth between 7pm and 7.35pm. 5.4 The Promoters’ decision is final and the Promoters will not enter into correspondence regarding the result. The Promoters may in their absolute discretion deem entries invalid subsequently to a winner being notified or a winner’s name being announced if it is discovered that the winner did not enter the Competition in accordance with these terms and conditions. In these circumstances, an additional draw will be conducted. 5.5 It is a condition of accepting the prize that the winner must comply with all the conditions of use of the prize and prize supplier’s requirements. 5.6 It is a condition of accepting the prize that the winner (and any companions) may be required to sign a legal release in a form determined by the Promoters in their absolute discretion. 6. NO LIABILITY 6.1 In the case of the intervention of any outside act, agent or event which prevents or significantly hinders the Promoter's ability to proceed with the Competition on the dates and in the manner described in these terms and conditions, including but not limited to vandalism, power failures, tempests, natural disasters, acts of God, civil unrest, strike, war, act of terrorism, the Promoter may in its absolute discretion cancel the Competition and recommence it from the start on the same conditions, subject to state government legislation. 6.2 Seven Network (Operations) Limited and affiliates, West Australian Newspapers Ltd and West Australian Ballet and their associated agencies and companies will take no responsibility for prizes damaged or lost in transit, or late, lost or misdirected mail. 6.3 Seven Network (Operations) Limited and affiliates, West Australian Newspapers Ltd and West Australian Ballet and their associated agencies and companies will not be liable for any misadventure, accident, injury, loss (including but not limited to consequential loss) or claim that may occur: a) in relation to entering the competition or during the draw; b) in the participation or use of any element(s) of the prize; c) as a consequence of late, lost or misdirected mail; d) due to the broadcast of any program relating to the Competition or the publication of any material, including any statements made by any compere, staff member, journalist, other entrants or any other person; e) in relation to failure of an SMS entry message to be received by the Promoter on account of technical problems or traffic congestion; or f) arising from or related to any problem or technical malfunction of any telephone network or lines or mobile communications network related to or resulting from participation in this promotion. 6.4 Seven Network (Operations) Limited and affiliates, West Australian Newspapers Ltd and West Australian Ballet and their associated agencies and companies assumes no responsibility for any error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation or transmission, communications line failure, theft or destruction or unauthorized access to, or alteration of entries, and reserves the right to take any action that may be available, subject to state government legislation. 6.5 If for any reason the Competition is not capable of running as planned, due to causes including but not limited to tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical failures or any other causes beyond the control of the Promoters which corrupt or affect the administration security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of the Competition, the Promoters reserve the right in their sole discretion to disqualify any individual who tampers with the entry process, take any action that may be available, and to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the Competition, subject to state government legislation. 7. PROMOTERS’ DETAILS 7.1 The Promoters are Seven Network (Operations) Limited (ABN 65 052 845 262) of Level 2, 38-42 Pirrama Road, Pyrmont NSW 2009 and West Australian Newspapers Ltd (ABN 98 008 667 632) of 50 Hasler Road, Osborne Park WA 6017. 7.2 The sponsor is West Australian Ballet (ABN 55 023 843 043) of 134 Whatley Crescent, Maylands WA 6051. 7.3 Seven Network Limited (ABN 21 052 816 789) and its related entities (“Seven”), is collecting the entrant's personal information for the purpose of conducting and promoting this competition (including but not limited to determining and notifying winners). The entrant may request access to his or her personal information by writing to Privacy Officer, Seven Network Limited, Level 2, 38-42 Pirrama Road, Pyrmont NSW 2009. 8. PRIVACY 8.1 West Australian Newspapers Ltd (ABN 98 008 667 632) and its related entities is collecting your personal information for the purpose of conducting and promoting this Competition, including for the purpose of identifying and notifying winners. Seven will otherwise handle your personal information in accordance with its Privacy Policy which is available on the website http://www.sevenwestmedia.com.au/privacy-policies (and which contains information regarding how you can access your personal information, correct it and/or make a complaint about the handling of your personal information). By providing your personal information, you agree to the terms of the Privacy Policy. Without limiting the foregoing, Seven may disclose the entrant’s personal information to its related entities, business partners and external service providers for research and profiling purposes as well as other purposes reasonably related to the entrant’s relationship with Seven. In addition, by entering this competition, you consent to Seven using your personal information for the purpose of Seven and its related entities sending you information regarding programs, products and services available through them and/or through their business partners, and to Seven from time to time sharing your personal information with carefully selected business partners for the purpose of them sending you such information directly. We will always provide you with the ability to opt out of those communications.
