"Kant and 20th century philosophy" The seminar will analyse central texts in various traditions of 20th century philosophy that relate to Kant's theoretical philosophy as well as passages from Kant that help to elucidate problems of contemporary philosophy. Provisional syllabus (the final syllabus will depend on the availability of English translations as well as on the research interests of the participants). Kant and Frege (The context principle, concepts and intuitions) Kant and Husserl (Kant's 'historical role' in the Crisis) Kant and Heidegger (the problem of imagination in 'Kant and the Problem of Metaphysics') Kant and Deleuze (the system of faculties I) Kant and Strawson (the system of faculties II) Kant and Carnap (analyticity I) Kant and Quine (analyticity II) Kant and Brandom (The context principle II) Kant and McDowell (concepts and intutions) Kant and Rorty (Kant's project in a metaphilosophical perspective) Before coming to Moscow, I would use German libraries and my network of colleagues to scan the relevant texts (in English translation, if needed) in order to make them available to students. If you need a more precise syllabus with bibliographical details, please provide me with a deadline for that. For Kant, it would be very helpful if the following volumes from the Cambridge Kant series were available in the HSE library: Critique of Pure Reason Immanuel Kant Edited by: Paul Guyer, Brown University, Rhode Island Edited by: Allen W.
