Survey on “Climate Change Cooperation Project in
Thailand”
As a party to the United Nations Framework Convention on
Climate Change (UNFCCC) since 1994, Thailand has been dedicating
immense efforts in order to limit GHG concentration in the atmosphere
and adapt to the severe impacts of climate change in harmonizing with
sustainable social and economic development. These endeavors are
delivered throughout national implementation
and international
collaboration with various donors and agencies, in terms of funding,
expert exchange and technical and technology transfer. Nevertheless,
international support in the field of climate change in Thailand is
currently scattered in several sectors and levels of implementation.
Therefore, there has not yet concrete direction, integration framework
and communication mechanism as well as its correlation with national
climate change policy and strategy.
In these connections, Office of Natural Resources and
Environmental Policy and Planning (ONEP), Ministry of Natural
Resources and Environment (MoNRE), as Thailand National Focal
Point of UNFCCC is conducting a survey on “Climate Change

Cooperation Projects in Thailand”. The purpose is to gather
information about cooperation projects on climate change undertaken
in Thailand with support from international organizations. The survey
results will serve as valuable inputs for designing climate change
coordination
concept
and
framework
as
well
as
initiating
communication mechanism. This is to ensure the policy coherence
and to maximize the efficiency and effectiveness of climate change
management and coordination in Thailand.
