Crystal structure, morphology, phase transitions, crystallization and melting of synthetic polymers. Mostly technichnologically relevant polymers (e.g. polyethylene, isotactic and syndiotactic polypropylene, polyesters and polyamides, polylactides) but also more exotic ones. 3. Major investigation techniques: electron microscopy and electron diffraction, atomic force microscopy, modeling by conformational and packing energy analysis.
