The program of study outlined below leads to the Associate of Applied Science (A.A.S) degree in Police
Science from Nashville State Community College (NSCC) and a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in
Arts and Sciences (Interdisciplinary Studies) with a Concentration in Social Sciences – Criminal
Justice from Tennessee State University (TSU).
This articulation agreement recognizes that the following course work is needed to complete an A.A.S.
degree in Police Science at Nashville State Community College.

This articulation agreement applies only to the B.S. in Arts and Sciences (Interdisciplinary Studies)
with a Concentration in Social Sciences - Criminal Justice.

A change of major invalidates these courses/credits for transfer unless they are approved within
some other program-to-program articulation agreement for a different major at Tennessee State
University.

A minimum 2.00 Grade Point Average (GPA) is required for transferable credits.

Students who complete the Associate of Applied Science (A.A.S.) degree in Police Science from
Nashville State Community College and who transfer to Tennessee State University (TSU) must
enroll in twenty-six (26) additional credit hours in Humanities/or Fine Arts, History, Social and
Behavioral Sciences and Natural Sciences. The chart below indicates course equivalents for the
remaining general education core credit hours that may be taken at TSU upon admission or at
NSCC prior to enrolling at TSU.

Students from NSCC transferring to Tennessee State University Interdisciplinary Studies with a
concentration in Social Sciences - Criminal Justice will lose fourteen (14) lower level credit hours.

Justice. This program exposes the student to knowledge and methodologies in two specific
disciplines within a given concentration. In addition to criminal justice, students may select
another discipline that may fit their personal and professional needs.
