GVAA VIKINGS has "partnered" with Velocity Sports Performance to offer our athletes a premium sports performance-training program. Velocity can make you a faster, stronger and more agile player. Velocity's diverse staff of performance professionals is a great way to take your game to the highest level. General Considerations: - - Velocity Sports Performance is a national brand and has established a presence locally and nationally as the leader in sports performance training, injury prevention, and rehabilitation. The Cherry Hill facility has recently received national attention in Sports Illustrated and locally on NBC, FOX, and Comcast Sports Net. Velocity Sports Performance’s goal is to assist in the development of young athletes. Velocity Sports Performance is here to partner with All State Lacrosse coaches to supplement what they are currently teaching. Velocity Sports Performance will solely focus on Speed, Power, Agility, Balance, Movement, & Injury Prevention. Velocity Sports Performance will provide a 10% discount off enrollment for every athlete and parent associated with GVAA VIKINGS. - This includes all Youth Programs (age 7-11), Developmental Programs (age 12-18), and Velocity Fitness Programs (Adults Only). Velocity Sports Performance will provide team/group training sessions at a discounted rate. Groups of select team members who want to participate in these sessions will have to make sure that the team/group provide a minimum of 10 athletes to participate in each team/group session. Velocity Sports Performance will designate specific times and dates for the team/group training sessions. Pricing will be done on an individual team basis depending on the number of athletes. Velocity Sports Performance will provide an athletic evaluation to assist GVAA Team coaches in providing a comprehensive evaluation of both the skills and athleticism of each athlete who participates. Velocity Sports Performance will perform five (5) athletic assessment drills: a) vertical jump; b) broad jump; c) pro-agility drill; d) three-cone drill; and e) 40 yard dash. This evaluation will be separate from any skills evaluation conducted by the teams. For this service, a fee of $10.00 per athlete will be charged. (This fee will be credited for any individual athlete currently enrolled in a regular Velocity Sports Performance program or any athlete who enrolls within a month of testing.) Velocity Sports Performance will be a resource for the coaching staff and parents of Our Players Velocity Sports Performance will conduct onsite Training Seminars for all coaches on topics such as “Speed, Power, & Agility,” “Handling an Athletic Injury,” and “Effective Athletic Warm-up.” Velocity Sports Performance will help develop a custom pre-game “Warm-up/Cooldown Program” to reduce the occurrence of athletic injuries. Additionally, Velocity Sports Performance will provide training and instruction to all coaches so that the programs can be implemented in practice and during pre-game preparations. Velocity Sports Performance will establish a scholarship program for each age group to allow deserving athletes the opportunity to participate in a Velocity Sports Performance Gold Program. Criteria regarding the selection of these athletes will be jointly determined by the coaches of GVAA VIKINGS and Velocity Sports Performance. Velocity Sports Performance offers to assist in conducting parental education programs (injury prevention, nutrition, mental preparation, etc.) for all members of GVAA . Velocity Sports Performance will assist in the development of specific programs designed for female athletes to decrease the incidence of injuries in the female athlete. The Training Room, Sports & Orthopaedic Physical Therapy (located within Velocity Sports Performance) will provide priority scheduling for all GVAA athletes, coaches, and parents. For injury care, Velocity Sports Performance and The Training Room will make their Certified Athletic Trainers and Licensed Physical Therapists (by appointment only) available for all GVAA Vikings athletes, coaches, and parents for free injury screening/evaluations. This beneficial consultation will offer advice in regards to the athlete’s injury, including treatment recommendations, home rehabilitation programs, and/or sports medicine physician referrals as needed. This service will be provided free of charge. Velocity Sports Performance and The Training Room will have a sports medicine physician onsite during an allotted time each week for injury evaluations for all GVAA athletes, coaches, and parents. These appointments must be scheduled with our office prior to arrival. This service will be provided free of charge.
