Mystery (Rom. 11:25) Rom 11:25 For I would not, brethren, that ye should be ignorant of this mystery, lest ye should be wise in your own conceits; that blindness in part is happened to Israel, until the fulness of the Gentiles be come in. Mystery from Gr. Musterion, something previously hidden, but now fully revealed. In the N.T. It always means any doctrine that has not in former times been made fully known to men. It is found 27 times in the N.T. and not once in the O.T. Our Jewish friends have no clue about the 18 mysteries that have been revealed to us Christians! 1) The kingdom of Heaven and the kingdom of God. 2) Israel’s blindness. 3) Salvation in Christ. 4) The doctrines of God. 5) The wisdom of God. 6) The gospel 7) Gift of knowledge. 8) Speaking in tongues. 9) The rapture of the church. 10) God’s will. 11) Christ in (union) with men. 12) The Church. 13) Doctrines of Christ. 14) Spirit of lawlessness. 15) Faith of the Gospel. 16) Seven candlesticks. 17) God’s delay in casting out Satan. 18) Mystery Babylon Eph 1:9 Having made known unto us the mystery of his will, according to his good pleasure which he hath purposed in himself: Eph 1:10 That in the dispensation of the fulness of times he might gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven, and which are on earth; even in him: Eph 1:11 In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated according to the purpose of him who worketh all things after the counsel of his own will: Eph 1:12 That we should be to the praise of his glory, who first trusted in Christ. Eph 1:13 In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise, Eph 1:14 Which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of his glory. How long have some of these mysteries hidden? Eph 1:4 According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love: Eph 1:5 Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will, Foundation in this verse is from the Gr. Katabole, and should have been translated “Overthrow” or “Casting down” and the word world is from the Gr. Kosmos social order. Thus the passage should have read: “before the overthrow of the social system” Which social order? Lucifer’s! The Gr. Word for foundation is themelio and this is not the one used in this passage or in Mt. 13:35 Mat 13:35 That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet, saying, I will open my mouth in parables; I will utter things which have been kept secret from the foundation of the world. Now you might ask yourself does this really matter? YES IT DOES!!! If Lucifer did not rebel against God we would have never been created! There would be no reason for God to make man to take the place of Lucifer as ruler of the planet Earth! 2Pe 3:5 For this they willingly are ignorant of, that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of the water and in the water: 2Pe 3:6 Whereby the world that then was, being overflowed with water, perished: 2Pe 3:7 But the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men. Referring to Gen. 1:2 But that’s another lesson, for another day! But since God saw that Lucifer an angelic being could sin, he planed ahead of time of a way of redemption for man if man also would fail Him! This is the true understanding of the word “predestined” No where does it say God has predestined those that will be saved and those that will be lost in all eternity, this would make God a respecter of persons! It simply guarantees that those that believe in His Son Jesus will be SAVED, for this He declared after Lucifer sinned and God keeps His word! Now give glory to the Father who had us in mind even before we were created!
