Any work done by the children on “Our World”.
(If there is enough space arrange the group in a circle around a map/picture of
the world or globe). As we gather together, close your eyes put out your hands
to the side and find someone else’s hand on your right and left. As we create a
circle around our world think of how wonderful and special it is.
Now we can say “Good morning” to each other and join in our first song.
(“He’s got the whole world in his hands” or another appropriate song)
Think quietly about some of the ways we praise God for our wonderful World
On a template of a hand, write or draw your thoughts and place around the map
of the world / globe. (Helping hands of praise)

of God
As we are doing this we listen to some music (Louis Armstrong ‘What a wonderful
World!’)
Now we are going to listen to some words from the Bible which tell us a
little about God’s creation. (supplement with God’s Story 1 p.6-7)

A reading from the book of Genesis (1: 24-26)
All:
Glory to you, Lord.
God said, “Let the earth produce living animals according to their kind: cattle, creatures that
move along the ground, wild animals according to their kind”. So it was. God created the wild
animals according to their kind, and everything that creeps along the ground according to its
kind. God saw that it was good.

Thanks be to God
Response to
the Word
We thank God for our Wonderful World.! Think of all the things you
would like to thank God for. Also, we remember those who are not as
fortunate as us, we close our eyes for a moment and think.
Litany: Invite the children to pray for our world. Remind the children that we are very lucky to
have all the things we do. We also rememeber those who are not as lucky.
