choose the abstracts for presentation at the meeting. Presenters will be notified by email.
Regular Poster Presentation (RPP)
The Regular Poster Presentations will cover all topics related to Pharmaceutical Research, Development and
Technology. A completed abstract should be submitted to nerdg.rpp@gmail.com prior to March 15, 2013. If
accepted, the presenters will be notified of the Abstract Review Committee’s decision no later than
March 30, 2013.
Poster boards are approximately 4 feet high x 6 feet long. If your abstract is accepted for presentation, please set
up your poster no later than 8:30 am on the meeting day, Friday, April 19, 2013 in the Nutmeg Room, and remove
before 5:00 pm. Your poster board will be marked with an assigned number. Push pins will be available near the
boards.
If there are any questions concerning the NERDG-RPP session, please email nerdg.rpp@gmail.com. If you don’t
hear a reply after five business days, please contact kimberley.lentz@bms.com.
Short Topic Presentation (STP)
The Northeast Regional Discussion Group (NERDG) Short Topic Presentation (STP) is designed to give
academic and industrial scientists in the field the opportunity to present and discuss their research in a smaller,
more interactive setting. The STP sessions are open to all NERDG participants. The topics for presentations are
open to any area of pharmaceutical research, development and technology. Due to limited space and time, it may
not be possible to select all abstracts for presentation at the conference. The presentation time is 15-20 min
depending on the number of participants. The lead author (first author) is defined as the individual who has
performed the majority of the research and is expected to be the one presenting the material. The lead author
should be present during the presentation session. However, if s/he cannot be present the day of NERDG 2013
Annual Conference, a substitute presenter should be designated. The lead author should inform the STP
Committee as soon as possible through nerdg.stp@gmail.com.
Due to limitations on the number of STP presenters that the NERDG Conference can accommodate, all STP
applications may not be chosen for presentation. In such cases, the same STP abstract may be presented as a
poster if the submitter and RPP section mutually agree.
STP participants should submit abstracts to nerdg.stp@gmail.com by March 15, 2013. If accepted, the presenters
will be notified of the Abstract Review Committees decision no later than March 30, 2013. Participants with
accepted abstracts should submit their PowerPoint Slides to the STP Session Chair by April 8th, 2013 through
nerdg.stp@gmail.com.
Academic Research Award (ARA)
The Academic Research Award (ARA) is limited only to students who are currently pursuing Master’s, Doctorate
and PharmD degrees. Each student participant will give a 15-20 min slide presentation to the judging committee
as well as general audience. One $1000 and two $500 awards will be given this year. The students will be judged
on the research content as well as the presentation skills including the ability to communicate to a wide audience.
As reflected in the session title, an alternate speaker cannot be substituted for the ARA presenting author listed in
the abstract submission. A presenting author who cannot present on the meeting date should inform the ARA
Committee as soon as possible through nerdg.ara@gmail.com to withdraw his/her abstract.
Due to limitations on the number of ARA presenters that the NERDG Conference can accommodate, all ARA
applications may not be chosen for presentation. In such cases, the same ARA abstract may be presented as a
poster if the submitter and RPP section mutually agree.
ARA participants must submit abstracts to nerdg.ara@gmail.com by March 15, 2013. If accepted, the presenters
will be notified of the Abstract Review Committees decision no later than March 30, 2013. If accepted, the ARA
participants should submit their presentation PowerPoint slides to the ARA Session Chair by April 8th, 2013
through nerdg.ara@gmail.com.
If there are any questions concerning the NERDG-STP or NERDG-ARA session, please email
nerdg.stp@gmail.com or nerdg.ara@gmail.com. If you don’t hear a reply after five business days, please contact
kimberley.lentz@bms.com.
