person__________. How are you? (Pause) Good! Here is our friend.
Kaz enters as teacher
introduces as friend.
Puppet 1: Hello. My name is Kaz. I am nine years old.
Teacher: How are you Kaz?
Puppet 1: I am fine. Thank you. How are you?
Teacher: I am fine. Thank you.
Puppet: What is this?
Teacher: That is a park. I see a tree, a leaf, grass, a green tree, a green leaf,
and green grass.

Teacher: (Teacher identifies item/answers the question and then
introduces vocabulary words in context)
Teacher: Let’s hear a story.
List the four vocabulary
words here:

Activity 1
Students will hold up a card for each target word when they hear the word.
(tree, leaf, grass, green). When students hear the word green with a target
word they will hold up the green card and the target word card.
Activity 2
Students will stand when they hear tree, sway when they hear leaf, and
squat when they hear grass. When they hear the word green students will
hold up a green card while making the appropriate gesture for the target
word.
Wrap-Up
Teacher: What did you learn today?
Puppet: The family sees a tree , the family sees a leaf, the family sees grass
at the park. The family sees a green tree, the family sees a green leaf, and
the family sees green grass at the park.
Teacher: Good! What did you learn? (pause)
