Open Reining HORSE SHOW RULES: 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. 7. 8. 9. 10. 11. 12. 13. 14. 15. 16. 17. 18. The safety of both the rider and the horse is of paramount importance. Show attire is not necessary. Long pants and shirts with sleeves are required. Heeled riding boots or riding shoes are required in all classes. Juniors must wear hard hats in all hunter and over fence classes. Hard hats and safety helmets are acceptable in all classes. A Maiden horse is one who has not won a blue ribbon in any rated show in that division. A Novice horse is one who has not won more than three blue ribbons in any rated show in that division. Beginner rider classes are restricted to riders that are just beginning their show career or are returning to the show world after a long absence. Experienced show riders are restricted from this show division. Academy classes are classes limited to horses used regularly in a lesson program. Required gaits will be walk, trot and canter, or walk, jog and lope unless noted. Extensions may be required. Acceptable schooling devices include snaffles, martingales, cavessons and hackamores (no mechanical hackamores). Leg wraps are acceptable. Riding 2 handed is OK. Exhibitors may ride in non eligible classes by turning their number upside down. You will not be judged in that class. The judge’s decision is final. The show committee reserves the right to combine, cancel, divide or add classes. The two-minute gate rule will be enforced. Ribbons will be awarded 1st thru 5th. Show ground rules require that all dogs must be on leash. Food will be available on the show grounds. This schooling show will use the Ticket System. TICKET SYSTEM: ALL TICKET SALES ARE FINAL ONCE YOU LEAVE THE OFFICE. Each entry fee will purchase you one ticket. Each ticket is good for entrance into ANY class of your choice. Simply present your ticket at the entry gate and enter the class. Tickets purchased at the first schooling show and not used are good for the shows offered in the balance of the series.. ENTRY FEES: $10.00 PER CLASS AND $5.00 PER HORSE, CA. STATE DRUG FEE. HIGH POINT PROGRAM. Each rider and horse will constitute a team. Each team will be assigned an exhibitors number. To be eligible for the high point award the team must enter a minimum of three of the schooling shows. A silver belt buckle will be awarded at the October 5th schooling show in the following catagories, High Point English exhibitor 18 & under. High Point Western exhibitor 18 & under. High Point Saddle Seat exhibitor 18 & under. (Points to be earned in classes 2,6,10,13,18,20) High Point English exhibitor 19 & over High Point Western exhibitor 19 & over DIRECTIONS to Woodmyst Farm. Exit off Hwy 101 at Leavesley. Go East on Leavesley. Leavesley becomes Ferguson. Turn left on Crews Road. Woodmyst Farm will be on the right. Use the second driveway. We wish all exhibitors a safe and fun day.
