Sisters, Distinguished invitees, Parents, teachers and my beloved Students The academic year 2014 – 15 was remarkable and fruitful for Mary Rani Public School & Jr. College as her achievements and accomplishments etch out visibly on her trodden path towards truth.A brief narration of the activities of the year stands testimony to this reality. To wipe out the slate clean before a fresh start and orientation programme for teachers was arranged prior to the commencement of the new academic year. The internationally renowned trainer Mr. Benny Kurian’s one day seminar on 29th May 2014 sounded the bugle for a boisterous academic year. Close the heels of the orientation programme, there came the reopening day programme. The school re-opened on 2nd june for the academic tear 2014 – 15 , following the traditional way of in involving theprotection and blessings of God Almighty with holy mass and prayers attended by Rev. Sisters, Staff and students. Principal Sr. Lins Alackal ignited the lamp signaling symbolically the institution of the academic year 2014 – 15 This year environmental day was celebrated with difference on 2nd June .Teachers of Biology department and principal together inaugurated the day by planting a sapling in the school premise. The inspiring and motivating message of principal highlighted the importance of loving 1 and protecting the trees and all the students took an oath to save our planet. Award meet 2014 to honour the students who manifested academic excellence in AISSE and AISSCE 2014 was organized on 18 th June 2014. In the board examination was conducted during the March 2014, our students came out with remarkable result with cent percent marks. Fr. Roy Kannanchira director of DCL, Rev. Sr. Mercy Manthuruthil – educational councilor, Mrs. Anuja Binu, vice president Paipadu Panchayath and Dr. Antony Mathews PTA President were the dignitaries on the occasion. Inauguration of Co-curricular activities was also held on very same day. The inauguration of English club and Investiture ceremony was jointly held on 27th June 2014. The gust of the occasion was Mr. K M Varghese, Retired Principal, St. Aloysius School, Athirampuzha. The newly elected parliament members took oath under the auspicious of Sr. Lins Alackal and handed over the key of leadership to the head boy and ead girl and exhorted the new office bearers to perform their responsibilities and duties with almost sincerity and honesty. Principal Sr. Lins Alackal distributed portfolio. Bands and symbolic crowns to the elected leaders counter signed the delegation of power. A unique youth festival named Exuberance 2014 who held on 30th August to 1st September in which students fought vigorously under the banner of four houses. The great event was inaugurated by Kumari Neeraja a student of Sanjose special school. Fifteen stages ware literally set on fire with teeming young minds talents ready for a neck to neck competition to prove there talents. A strong and supportive PTA functions in our school and help us in all endeavors and always directed towards betterments of students. The first PTA general body meeting was held on 16th August 2014. As 2014 2 was conceded on family year ‘KUDUMBAVARSHAM’ the gust of the day Rev. Fr. Kuriakose Kannankara give out a session on the topic ‘Family Bonding’ the school honored the parents having five children by giving a momentum. As a catholic institution we always up holds fading values and principles with the mission on mind school conducted an annual retreat on 22nd & 23rd August, students were divided in to four sections and they were given Spiritual and Moral talks. Rev. Fr. Joby Karukaparambil Sunday school director Arch diosces Changanacherry was the guest of the day. The two day programme was enriched with the talk of Rev. Sr. Mercy Manthuruthil, Educational Councilor, Mr. Jacob Job Commissioner of Police ,Trissur and Sr. Emily Principal AKM Public School, Changanacherry. Retreat for teachers lead by Mr. Cijo P Jacob which helped the teachers to know their students. Onam celebration assumed new magnitude in Mary Rani with the passage of tune. Various competitions were organized and the inauguration was held on 6th September2014. The glory of our rich tradition and heritage was beautifully captured in its vivid colours and that exceptional radiance was reflected in all the programmes. Added to it the presence of Mr. Kishore satya Cine actor made the day splendid. Teacher’s day was also celebrated on the very same day. The students in gratitude honored the teachers. Tours and trips were arranged every year for students with a view to rejuvenate their minds and provide to see new place and to get new experience. Students of XII had a one day trip to KANYAKUMARI. Students of class XI and IX had a four day trip to HOGENAKKAL and WAYANAD from 10th to 14th and 16th to 20th October. Students of class III to VIII went a trip to WONDRELA and kids enjoyed a day in beach and park ALAPPUZHA. 3 Mary Rani Celebrated ‘Keralapiravi’ on 1st November 2014. Miss Miya the famous cine Actress inaugurated the day by lighting the lamp. Various competitions were staged and all the programmes captured the mind of beholders 6th November 2014 was a red letter day for us as the prestigious Mar Thomas Kurialacherry Memorial Inter School Quiz Competition was held on the same day. The competition was conducted for U.P, H.S and H.S.S. separately around to students from to different schools took part in the competition. The winners were awarded with trophy, certificates and cash awards. ‘Snehatheerathu 2014’ was another major event held in our school, in the first half of the academic year 2014 – 15. The day was meant to honour the grandparents. A special gathering was arranged to honour the grandparents and the eldest among them were honored, which helped the children to inculcate the value, love and care towards there grandparents. The 3rd all Kerala interschool Badminton tournament for Mother Shanthal Memorial trophy was conducted in a spectacular manner at Mary Rani on the first half of year 2014. Baker Vidhya Peedom and S.D. Seminary was the winners in singles as well as in doubles the winners were awarded with trophy and cash awards. Legentia 2014 the children’s day set a part for our little kids from KG to V was celebrated on 14th November 2014 in a colourful manner. The guest of the day was Rev. Fr. Mathew Thengumpallil, principal of Christ Central School Tiruvalla. The feast of Principal, Local Manager, and Vice Principal were jointly held on the very same day. The whole day was spent in an ambience of colour and mirth with a variety of programmes included Tableau Skit and Dance and was staged in an air of tremendous appears 4 In order to impact true sportsman spirit school encourages students to participate in sports and games. The annual sports meet was held on 13th and 14th November 2014 and was inaugurated by Mr. Jerlin V Scaria, Sub Inspector of police, Changanacherry. Students participated in the competition under the banner of their respective Houses and secured points and grades As the curtain of the year drew in a melodious note, Christmas season approached with the resonance of jingle bells. The official inauguration of the celebration was held on 19th December 2014 REV. Fr. Tom Puthenkalam by cutting the cake. Carol songs, X’mas papa, candles, cakes, cribs and a decorated tree put in splendor to the gaiety of the day. January 14th is remarkable day for Mary Rani as it is the birth anniversary of Mar Thomas Kurialacherrry, the founder of SABS Congregation. Founder’s day was celebrated with all its pomp and show. The inauguration of new Basket Ball Court also held on the same day by Mr. Alex Puthuvelil. School being a second home had taken up the responsibility of growing love and compassion for the poor and down trodden. Under the auspicious of the project ‘Nallapadam’ we encourage our children to contribute towards charity funds on every Friday. The lesson of love in practiced through the act of charity epitomized in our projects, ‘Thanal’, and ‘Unnishoykoru Snehasammanam’ to which children donate an amount of Rs. 50,000/- to various institutions and orphanages on various occasions I am proud to say that our students had won a series of prizes in various competitions held in the year.
