FUGRO PRESENTATION Objectives: 1 To encourage students to apply to work with Fugro after completion of their studies. 2. To give students the possibility to get summer jobs with Fugro. 3. To give selected students the possibility to work on their thesis using our world-wide data base. 4. Possibility for academic staff to perform work/research that can be meaningful to both the University and Fugro. 5. To develop a relationship with the University to accomplish the above. Brief Description of the Fugro Companies: Fugro was founded in 1962. It has approximately 8,500 staff permanently stationed in over 50 countries. Fugro collects and interprets data related to the earth's surface and the soils and rocks beneath. Fugro also provides advice, for purposes related to the oil and gas industry, the mining industry and the construction industry. Fugro operates around the world at sea, on land and from the air, using professional, highly specialised staff and advanced technologies and systems, many of which have been developed in-house. The Fugro Group in Norway is represented by the following companies: Fugro-Geoteam Fugro-Geoteam AS is a significant player within today’s 2D, 3D and 4D marine seismic acquisition market. Surveys are undertaken throughout the world using a fleet of modern seismic vessels. Fugro-Geoteam has been acquiring seismic data for over 30 years and in this time has provided high quality data acquisition. Fugro Multi Client Services Fugro Multi Client Services provides high quality Multi-Client 2D and 3D seismic from most of the prolific basins in the world. We are key providers of 2D and 3D MC data in Norway, UK, Australia, Brazil, Indonesia, Russia and Gulf of Mexico through our local service offices in Perth, Wallingford UK, Oslo, Holland, Rio de Janeiro and Houston. We offer new long offset 2D data in most of these regions allowing advanced geophysical analysis, modeling and calibration to lower exploration risk FMCS is also engaged in several exploration licenses in co-operation with partners. Fugro Seismic Imaging Fugro Seismic Imaging provides a full range of seismic data processing services to the upstream Oil and Gas Industry. Onshore processing operations are conducted out of three regional centres London, Houston and Perth - which offer the complete range of services available from FSI. The regional centres are complemented by a network of satellite centres Aberdeen, Jakarta, Kuala Lumpur, Montreal, Mumbai with specialist local expertise. For offshore processing, there is a single global centre, Oslo, which is the home for on-board processing for the Fugro Geoteam fleet of 2D and 3D acquisition vessels. The vessels are permanently equipped with the latest onboard seismic processing facilities. Services provided include real-time acquisition QC, 2D/3D QC processing, full onboard 2D seismic processing, 3D pre-processing and fast-track migrated full fold volumes. Fugro Survey Fugro Survey AS is part of the Fugro Marine Survey Division which is the world leader in the provision of offshore survey services. Our company provides high precision positioning systems, hydrographical, geotechnical, geophysical and geodetic surveying as well as Laser mapping from air or ground. We mainly operate offshore, but also have a specialised onshore mapping activity. Fugro Seastar Since its formation in 1994, Fugro Seastar AS has been involved in the development and operation of high performance positioning services to meet the needs of a wide range of customers, particularly in the marine sector. Fugro Seastar offers navigation- and high performance positioning services, primarily to the offshore business. The users of our services are vessels equipped with dynamic positioning which requires a high accuracy and integrity during operations, and other marine users who have special demands for navigation requirements. Fugro is viewed as a market leader within our field of expertise today. Fugro Jason Fugro-Jason aids customers to efficiently develop hydrocarbon deposits through its leadingedge technology and services. Our high-fidelity techniques incorporate all available information into each reservoir model and can lead to more oil and gas production with fewer wells. Fugro-Jason is part of the Fugro Geoscience Division. The Jason Geoscience Workbench (JGW Software) integrates geological, geophysical, petrophysical and rock property information into a single consistent model of the earth. It includes 3D seismic inversion, wavelet estimation, geostatistical inversion, AVA simultaneous inversion, rock physics, petrophysics, reservoir modeling, advanced analyses, and 3D visualization. JGW Software was introduced in 1986. Fugro Oceanor Fugro Oceanor is a high-tech company specialising in delivering integrated real-time environmental monitoring and information systems for oceans, rivers, lakes, groundwater and soil. The systems are often used in connection with offshore oil and gas production, harbour monitoring, sea and fresh water quality monitoring and weather forecasting. The company's multi-disciplinary expertise within meteorology, oceanography, biology, hydrology, chemistry, electronics and software development deliver outstanding products and services worldwide. Among the services that Fugro Oceanor offers are the surveillance camera systems. Our range includes integrated CCTV for both safe and hazardous areas and sub-sea TV systems (guideline, guideline-less or fixed). System configuration includes any required system distribution, multiplexers and recording equipment and integration with other systems (drilling systems and office network)
