Eastview High School Team Sky and Force Policies and Expectations Expectations All students in the Core are responsible for upholding the high academic and behavior standards expected of all EVHS students. The following expectations will apply to all of your Core classes. These expectations will be consistently enforced by all your team teachers. Respect-for yourself, your teachers, your peers, and EVHS a. Appropriate language will be used at all times b. Food, candy, gum, and drink will be consumed in the Student Commons area only. c. Personal hygiene activities will be taken care of in the bathrooms or in the privacy of your own home. d. The classroom will be treated like the brand new facility it is. e. People will treat others as they would like to be treated. EVHS Policies- School District 196 Behavior Policies and Consequences will be followed by everyone in the team. In order to give all involved the chance to reach their full potential, misbehavior will not be tolerated. Preparation and Responsibility- In accordance with our Core Program Features, accountability and responsibility will be taught. All students will arrive for each class with: a. writing utensils b. paper c. book d. planner e. other necessary materials If you have any questions about the above expectations please ask. This is a classroom and you are expected to act accordingly. We do this to ensure a positive learning environment for everyone. Policies Along with having high expectations, there are also policies which have been put in place to hold students accountable and ensure they get the most out of their team experience. The policies in place have been adopted by all of your Core teachers to ensure consistency. Homework The 9th Grade Core will require students to do work outside of the EVHS walls. The planner that is required to purchase will serve as a constant reminder of due dates for any outside assignments. The expectation is that all homework and projects will be handed in on time without exception. Late work will be accepted for 75% credit for three school days after the due date. Failure to turn in work by this date will be a total loss of credit for the missing work. Circumstances may arise where teachers reserve the right to amend this policy. (i.e. special projects, graduation standards packages, etc) Tardies and Attendance Students are expected to be in their seat when the bell rings so class can begin on time. Failure to meet this requirement will result in a tardy. EVHS school policy states that three tardies results in an after school detention. It also counts as one absence towards your quarter limit of seven. Food and Beverages Food and beverages are not allowed in the academic wing. Because our classrooms are in the academic wing, we are not allowed to have either of these in our rooms. Grading Scale All quarter grades count toward your overall grade point average. Grade Point Average determines your co-curricular eligibility in both high school and college, post-secondary scholarship opportunities, college entrance, military acceptance, and work placement. Grades will be determined on a percentage system as follows: 93-100%= A 80-82%=B67-69%=D+ 90-92%= A77-79%=C+ 63-66%=D 87-89%=B+ 73-76%=C 60-63%=D83-86%=B 70-72%=C0-59%=F Teachers English/Language ArtsA308 Social StudiesA308 Ms. Strey, Rm.
