Unnatural base pairs are being developed worldwide to utilize them as the “third” base pair in
replication, transcription, translation, and so on, together with the two Watson-Crick base pairs1.
T7 RNA polymerase is frequently used to transcribe unnatural bases in DNA to RNA. In the
present study, we determined the crystal structure of a complex of T7 RNA polymerase with a
DNA/RNA scaffold containing unnatural bases.……
