Zack Green, biography. Hailing from Durham, North Carolina, Isaac Green is a Freshman at Duke University planning to create his own major in Photography and Film using Project II. Having taught english, toured, and photographed in much of Europe, Asia, and the Caribbean, Isaac is well traveled and is passionate about understanding and sharing cultural nuances. In the summers between his high school years, Isaac participated in Duke TIP in China, UCSD’s summer engineering program, taught English at a rural school in Xi’an, China and most recently, was commissioned to document a postgraduate research trip in Peru. During this trip, he lived in mud brick huts in the higher reaches of the Andes Mountains and documented the lives of rural potato farmers. Isaac studied Mandarin for seven years, which is responsible for his multiple trips to that region. Domestically, Isaac is a member of Freewater Productions at Duke. His production company, Green Media, is frequently commissioned to produce films for Duke's various organizations including The Franklin Humanities Institute, The Duke Haiti Lab, and The Baldwin Scholars Program. Through the Haiti Lab, Isaac documented a collaborative art project with Haitian artist Edouard Duval Carrie; simultaneously shooting video and photographs. Currently, Isaac is working on multiple film projects. As a Duke student from Durham, he has a unique perspective on Durham and it’s affairs; he is single-handedly producing Bull City Blowout, a documentary on the Durham Skatepark and it’s skater-run operations and community. He is also helping with One Night in Cameron, a documentary on Duke Basketball by Emmy winning director Gary Hawkins. This summer, in addition to continuing his work with Edouard, Isaac has been chosen for the 2011 Students of the World National Team and will be a Co-Filmmaker, documenting refugee camps in Nablus, Palestine. This trip is highly selective and Isaac will be joined by a group of talented media oriented students.
