For those families who did not have a chance to get their
family portrait taken for our new directory, you now have
another opportunity. The company will be at St.
Bartholomew Church on August 7-11 and August 16-18.
You can schedule an appointment by calling Busson at 1800-685-3002 ext. 416. Please make sure you tell the
company that you are a parishioner of St. Vivian when you
make the appointment and also when you get your portrait
taken. Remember that you receive a free 8 X 10 and a
directory just for participating. Don’t miss this opportunity

Child Protection Decree Classes
Anyone wishing to volunteer with the children of St.
Vivian Parish and/or School must attend a Child
Protection Decree Class and be fingerprinted by the
Archdiocese. The classes will be held at St. Vivian in the
Youth Room in Ursuline Hall and the dates and times are
listed below. The fingerprinting can only be done at
designated locations in the Archdiocese. The days and
times of fingerprinting locations are available thru the
Archdiocese’s web site at www.catholiccincinnati.org,
“fingerprinting information” and then “sites”. The class
must be completed and the results of the fingerprinting
must be obtained prior to volunteering.

Donut Sunday
August’s Donut Sunday will be hosted by the Twinning
Group. We hope you can join us for fellowship with other
members of the parish. We hope to see you on August 12
after all the Sunday masses.
Homestead Exemption
A new law has been passed that will allow senior citizens
and those with disabilities to save money on property
taxes. Go to the Ohio website www.tax.ohio.gov and
select the symbol at the top labeled “New Homestead
Exemption.” It will give you the details and a way to
download the application form. For Hamilton County
residents, the completed form is sent to Hamilton County
Auditor Dusty Rhodes, 138 East Court St., Room 304A,
Cincinnati, OH 45202-1221. For questions call 946-4000.
Youth Ministry Canoe Trip
The second annual youth ministry canoe trip will be
Saturday, August 18. We’ll meet at 10:00 am in the back
parking lot to go canoeing in the Little Miami River and
return around 4:00 pm. All 7-12th graders are invited. The
cost is $13 per person. Registration forms can be found on
the youth ministry website. Don’t forget that participants
under 18 need to complete the Little Miami Canoe Waiver
and the new 2007-2008 Medical Release (also online).
Adults are welcome to come as chaperones. Call Jeanne

Summer Market Day Information
Market Day for the summer will be on Saturday, August
11 from 9:30 to 10:30 am in the School Cafeteria. Orders
must be placed by Tuesday, August 7 at Noon. You can
place an order online at www.marketday.com or simply
pick up an order sheet and mail it to Fran at 8537 Shuman
Lane, Cincinnati, OH 45231. You can also call in your
order to Fran at 948-9963 or 378-5482. Feel free to leave
your order in the form of a message and she will place it

Welcome St. Vivian Class of 1982
They are celebrating their 25th reunion this weekend. They
want to thank the planning committee for all of their hard
work in the preparations for the reunion. They are also
excited about their friends who traveled home for this
reunion and all their local friends who are attending. They
hope that everyone enjoys reminiscing with old friends
about their days at St. Vivian. They especially would like
to remember their fellow student Craig Strobach.

Natural Family Planning Classes will be held at Mercy
Hospital Western Hills, starting Wednesday, September 5
at 7:00 pm. The method is highly effective, easy to use and
is in accord with the Catholic Church and God’s Divine

Free Spirits
The Monday, August 6, meeting will be a pot luck lunch.
Bring a dish, salad, pasta, or dessert to serve about six
members. Tuesday, August 14 is the annual trip to River
Downs. The bus will be at St. Nicholas Greek Church
parking lot at 11:00 am and leave at 11:15 am. We arrive
at the Club House in time to have a served lunch and
review your program to place your bet. Any time you wish
to visit the paddock, you can do so. The price of the trip is
$30. We still have seats open on the bus. Call Margaret at
