VISITORS VISA / TOURIST VISA
Requirements:
1. Completed Visa application Form (B1-84) in BLACK ink only.
2. Original passport must be presented, (Passport must be valid for no less than 30 days after the expiry of
intended visit to South Africa. The passport must have at least two (2) blank pages (one to endorse/stamp
the visa and the other one for entry/exit stamps).
3. Long term UAE residence visa (issuance date must be 6 months and longer on the time of application)
4. Copy of the original passport, UAE residence page (validity should not be less than 3 months from the
date of application) and South African visa/s (if any) must be submitted.
5. Two (2) passport size photographs (35x45mm). It must be a clear copy, recent or not older than 6 months. It
must be in white background.
6. Applicant’s latest three (3) months banks statement. ONLY bank statements issued by a bank “in the UAE”
are acceptable.

print out copies from the online internet banking (but it must be stamped by the bank)
Should the applicant submit the bank statement of the company, the following additional documents
are required:
a) Letter from the company/sponsor which states that the company has no objection to use the
bank account/statement by the applicant, to cover his/her travel expenses in South Africa.
The letter must be signed by ALL partners/owners of the company (as shown in the trade
license).
b) Copy of Trade License.
c) Copy of ALL partners/owners passport and UAE visa page.
d) 3 months latest bank statement of the company (stamped by the bank)
7. Original Non-Objection Certificate (NOC) from the employer/sponsor (it must be signed and stamped,
dated/issued on the current month or should be dated not more than a month, from the date of application).
The letter must confirm the travel dates, exact purpose of travel and “no objection” from the
sponsor/employer, for the said travel. Full contact details of the company/employer (e.g. physical address,
telephone number) must be indicated in the letter.
8. Applicants under the sponsorship of a husband/father/mother/wife/employer visa***, the following
documents should be submitted:
Typed and signed Sponsorship letter (issued by the sponsor***, it must confirm the travel dates, exact
purpose of travel, relationship, details of the applicant, and financial undertaking). The financial
undertaking from the sponsor is required, only if, the applicant itself could not provide his/her personal
bank statement (e.g. minor, unemployed, student, housemaid, etc.). Sponsor’s residential address in
the UAE and contacts details must be indicated in the letter.
Passport and UAE visa copy of the sponsor
If the applicant could not provide his/her own bank statement, the 3 months personal bank statement
of the sponsor is required (must be stamped by the bank).
 For applicants MARRIED to a SOUTH AFRICAN, the following additional documents are required:
Copy of Marriage certificate
Copy of South African ID or South African passport of the spouse
9. Proof of Air tickets (provisional or confirmed). Proof of Domestic flight/s is also required, if the applicant is
travelling from one city to another.
10. Proof of Accommodation in South Africa.
If staying in a hotel, a proof of confirmed or provisional booking is required
If staying with a family/relative/friend/colleague, a copy of the following from the SA host are required:
a) Invitation letter (typed, signed and must be dated/issued on the current month or should be
dated not more than a month from the date of application). The physical home address and
contact details of the SA host should be indicated in the letter.
b) SA host copy of his/her latest three (3) months personal bank statement
c) Proof of address (e.g. Utility bills, Lease of Contract, Tax invoice, etc.) as indicated in the
invitation letter.
d) If the host is a South African, a copy of South African ID book or passport is required.
If the host is not a South African, a copy of passport and residence/permit/visa copy of the
host in South Africa is required.
 For parents and siblings visiting either their son/daughter/siblings in South Africa, and will be staying with
them whilst in South Africa, the following additional documents are required:
Copy of son/daughter/sibling’s full birth certificate (In English only)
Copy of son/daughter/sibling’s passport
Copy of visa/temporary residence/permanent residence permit issued/granted to them
11. If the applicant is a minor, and accompanied by parents/guardian, a copy of full BIRTH CERTIFICATE is
required translated into English by a sworn translator, if it is in any other languages.
12. In the case of an UNACCOMPANIED MINOR, a typed and signed “LETTER OF CONSENT” from BOTH
parents/guardian is required. A copy of parent’s passport and UAE visa should also be submitted.
13. Medical cover (copy of the insurance card is required, along with the insurance policy copy or certification
from the service provider, for the “PROOF COVERAGE”. The coverage/geographical scope must state that it
covers “WORLDWIDE” or including South Africa).
If a medical insurance could not be provided, a “Travel Insurance” could be submitted instead.
14. A yellow fever certificate is required “ONLY IF” an applicant is coming from or going through a yellow fever
endemic zone. Applicants who are going straight/directly to South Africa from Dubai, and who have not been
in a yellow fever zone recently or within a year are “NOT” required to fulfill/submit a yellow fever certificate or
any other additional health requirement.
NOTE:
All tourist visa applicants, who are applying for the first time, must only submit the
application a MONTH or closer to the date of intended travel to South Africa.
As of 23 November 2015 “ONLY” machine readable passports will be accepted.
