Working as Principal Scientist and group leader of “Bioprocessing of ores and fossil fuels” group at Industrial Biotechnology Division of National Institute for Biotechnology & Genetic Engineering (NIBGE), Faisalabad, Pakistan. Research interests include microbiological bioaccumulation of heavy metals/radionuclides for development of bioseparation and bioremediation processes for industrial effluents, bioleaching of precious/heavy metals from low grade ores and biodesulfurization of fossil fuels especially coal, biosynthesis & biotransformations of bio-active compounds.
