2. Objectives:
To educate students in Sikkim on:
- How to use toilets (e.g. flushing)
- How to wash hands thoroughly
- How to keep the toilets clean (e.g. cleaning toilets)
- How to clean themselves after using the toilets

4. Elaboration of Ideas
a. Dance

to familiarize the Sikkim students with the routine to use the toilets through engaging actions
the rhythm of the dance routine will enable the student to remember the actions of using the
toilet vividly
teaching method: 4 dance leaders will choreograph the dance steps. On that day itself, they will
be standing in front of the students to teach them the dance moves, while the other 17 instructors
will be spreading themselves out amongst the students to aid them when the latter are met with
difficulties
estimated time of lesson: 45 minutes- 1hour (both days)
b. Songs

to aid the students in understanding the importance of keeping the toilets clean
to reinforce the importance of ownership of one’s toilet and hygiene through catchy tunes and
lyrics
teaching methods: 2 song leaders will be standing in front of the students to teach them the
songs, while other 19 instructors will be singing along to help the Sikkim students to hear the lyrics
clearer
3-4 songs to be composed
estimated time of lesson: 30minutes-45minutes(2 days)

c. Interactive Games

to aid the students in understanding the importance of keeping the toilets clean
to help the Sikkim student in remembering the process of toilet usage through engaging and fun
games
simple games will be played as it will ease the process of teaching them
examples: hand-made board games, etc
estimated time of activity: 1 hour
d. Educational Slides
-
to educate the students the importance of maintaining the cleanliness of the toilet
to exercise ownership of one’s toilet and hygiene
serves to be informative and enriching
basic foundation of knowledge of hygiene and proper toilet usage
power point slides projected using a projector onto a white wall
4 in-charges to come up with these slides.
N.B.: layman terms used and sentence structures should be kept short
estimated time of activity: 15minutes- 20minutes (to be done first amongst all activities)

To be pasted on the walls of the toilets and along the trek
Liaise with Publicity Committee to come up with the poster designs
Target to come up with at least 5 poster designs, each reinforcing different messages

to spread and remind the students the importance of hygiene and maintaining the cleanliness of
the toilets
also serve as tokens/gifts/prizes for the students to reward them for their active participation in
the activities
have messages of keeping good hygiene and toilets clean on the badges/bookmarks
approximated 5 designs, each reinforcing different messages for badges and bookmarks each
g. Toilet Panting Design Competition

to allow students to develop a sense of responsibility and ownership to their toilets through
involvement in the decoration of their own toilets
each student will be given a tile to decorated based on a certain theme
the tiles will then be put on the wall of the toilet for decorative purposes
they can also paint the doors of the cubicles in the toilets under our supervision
show them some photos of what Singaporean students have done to their school toilets to allow
them to generate ideas
to liaise with Construction committee with the plan of this activity
