The Mebane Woman’s Club is an exciting and active part of the Mebane Community! This is a truly
unique organization that has pledged support in volunteer time as well as fundraising efforts for several
community service projects. MWC members currently focus their time on supporting Meals on Wheels
program, the local Food Pantry, Read Across America events, the Community Garden, health and
wellness initiatives, and various other onetime fundraising event opportunities.
The MWC has annual fundraising events that are staples in our community. Planned so far for 2013:

The Mebane Woman’s Club Annual Fundraiser is a semi-formal affair in its 5th year and typically
draws 100 - 150 guests. This year we will be combining casino action with a silent and live auction to
raise money for our general fund, which includes education initiatives, community initiatives, and other
projects. Our recent fundraising efforts have supported Mebane Public School Libraries, Science
Departments, and Alamance Community College, to highlight a few education-centered projects.
Additionally, the Mebane Woman’s Club supports several community outreach programs and we are
hoping to build on those efforts, along with our education efforts, in the coming year.
Mebane on the Move (MOTM) is an initiative started in 2006 to help Mebane become a more active
and healthy community. This event draws 300 - 600 participants and 100 volunteers for the 5k and 10k
run/walk, plus a 1 mile “Mebane Mad Dash” which draws another 350 children and their families. Funds
raised from the MOTM event are used to improve the health of the community via programming and built
environment changes.
There are many ways for you to get involved. No donation is ever too small! Below are just a few of the
