Q: I still haven’t turned in my Balfour order. Have I missed the deadline?
A: YES, you have. However, you still have a few options. You can order online at:
www.houstonbalfour.com. until April 1st. Or, mail your package with a check
enclosed to: 2930 Chimney Rock, Houston, TX 77056; mail order must be received
by April 1st as well. After April 1st, you will need to order IN PERSON, 10am-5pm.
You can order in person until May 27th. Any questions, call Balfour at 713-784-4990
Q: When will I receive my announcements and cap & gown order?
A: Balfour states the estimated delivery date on graduation announcements will
be April, and an estimated delivery date for your cap & gown will be May.
Q: What do I need to know about Graduation?
A: Graduation for HHS is May 28, 2011. Again, it will be held at Reliant Stadium;
the ceremony starts at 10:00a.m. Listen for announcements regarding what time
Seniors should arrive to Reliant, and the time/date for Graduation Practice. If you
don’t attend practice the day before, you won’t walk the stage at Reliant.
Q: Do I have enough credits to graduate?
A: Ultimately, it is your responsibility to make sure you do. If you have not
discussed this with your Counselor by now, you need to make an appointment to
discuss this topic as soon as possible.
Q:
What resources are available to parents and seniors?
A:
Humble High School has a college representative staffing our College Room
(#1014) every Tuesday from 8:00 – 2:30. You can also find her at a table in the
cafeteria during all lunches each Tuesday. She can answer questions and offer
guidance about ANY college. Students are encouraged to visit her with questions
and concerns about their future; parents, feel free to email her at:
Lashelle.Lassiter@loneStar.edu
We also have our website which is full of information on every topic for seniors and
their parents. Please log on to: www.humbleisd.net/hhs/scholarships.
Q: How do I get a proof of enrollment form (VOE) for the Department of
Public Safety, to get my Driver’s License?
A: Proof of Enrollment forms (also known as VOE forms) are available in the
Attendance Office #1013. The student can pick this form up by going into the
Attendance Office, signing up a day in advance, and coming back the next day to
pick it up. NO EXCEPTIONS. YOU MUST SIGN UP A DAY IN ADVANCE.
Q: We have a different address/phone number now than when I enrolled in
the fall, but still within HHS zone? What do I do about changing our address?
A: You will not receive your final report card in June until you bring in a gas bill,
electric bill, water bill, deed or lease agreement to the Registrar’s office, #3003 .
If you are in a new apartment, you will need to bring in the Lease, making sure the
student is listed as an “Occupant”. The Registrar will then put your new address
into our system to ensure you receive everything the district mails to you.
Q: How do I file with the NCAA to ensure I can participate in sports?
Log on to www.eligibilitycenter.org, complete the online application and then report
to Ms. Dodson, Room #3003 that you have finished online. We will then mail your
transcript to the NCAA; at no charge. Second step: Log on to your College Board
profile & order your SAT results to be sent directly to NCAA, using code 9999.
SAT results are no longer valid unless sent directly from College Board.com
Q: How do I make up a credit? I failed a core class and need to earn that
credit before the end of this year.
You have several options. Both the Credit by Exam and the Houston Learning
Academy options have a fee. You and your child can discuss these options with the
Counselor. We also have in-school Credit Recovery; please contact your Counselor
to check if credit recovery classes are available.
Q: We are moving, how do I withdraw from HHS?
A; Our Withdrawals are handled by Ms. Pannone, #3003B. Your parent needs to
call Ms. Panonne 24 hours in advance so paperwork can be started. 281-641-6327.
The student’s legal guardian who enrolled them in school must be the one who
completes the withdrawal process. You must make sure ALL fines are paid first;
you must return ALL textbooks that were issued; return ALL library books; return
ALL extra-curricular school-issued uniforms and equipment. You will not receive
your withdrawal paperwork until all of the above conditions have been met. You
cannot enroll in a new school WITHOUT this withdrawal paperwork.
Q: I need a transcript to send with my college application, how do I order?
A: Transcripts must be ordered in person at the Registrar’s Office #3003. They
are $2.00 each, due at the time of ordering, cash only with a pick up in 2 days.
