Tea Tree Gully District Cricket Club JUNIOR COACH ROLE The Junior Coach’s role at TTGDCC is to: 1. Develop and oversee the implementation of the junior coaching program within a whole of club framework. 2. Work with the Junior Co-ordinator, local in2Cricket Coordinators and Grade Cricket Officer to identify players for development within the various junior programs and from associated community and country clubs, and the primary school competition. 3. Manage the junior team selection process to meet the Club’s needs, taking into account advice from team managers, assistant coaches, Junior Co-ordinator and the Senior Coach 4. Be responsible to the Board for strengthening and increasing the success of the junior coaching program through the Junior Co-ordinator, Senior Coach and Women’s Coach 5. Develop a strong link with the SACA high performance program to monitor and improve the success of players within the programs KEY ACTIVITIES In support of the Club’s objectives the Junior Coach must: 1. Add to the Club’s performance from on field success, through to the development of future key senior players consistent with Club’s policies 2. Design, develop and deliver an effective junior coaching program to improve the Club’s junior player success rate. 3. Provide advice, support and direction to the junior assistant coaching group to improve player performance on and off the field 4. Establish a strong relationship with the junior playing group based on respect and your expertise 5. Provide a strong technical focus to the junior program to ensure a sound base for player development 6. Be able to monitor player development and performance during matches, trials and practice sessions. SCOPE OF WORK The Junior Coach is responsible for overseeing the program for: 1. 4 SACA junior teams 2. 1 NEJCA team 3. 1 Ray Sutton Shield Team Support the Senior Group with: the management of the Bank SA Cup squad In addition, provide advice to the Women’s Cricket Coach and program as required. PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES The Junior Coach must: 1. Be a strong communicator with both players, junior support staff, and parents; 2. Hold an appropriate coaching qualification; 3. Be able to manage processes such as selections in a manner that is neutral but soundly structured; 4.
