Fun at the glass shop!
Hard to tell what season it is! Is it cold, as in stained, or hot, as
in fused? You choose!
We have had several Beginning Stained Glass students finish
their first projects and some have even been back several
times. (Peg, we enjoy your company).
My wonderful Findlay group, Sherrie, Deb, and Pam joined
Vivian Dahling for three weeks and completed their first panel
lamps. Hooray!
And once again we had a wait list for the woven bowl project
that is so successful!

Fused Glass Pendants $95
This is one our most popular beginning classes! It is a
professional introduction to fusing. Class sizes range from 3-6
students and all the instruction and materials are included!
First, we cover glass fusion theory (very important to building a
base of knowledge). Then, you will create 10 glass cabochons
that you will make into pendants. Other topics of discussion
include: firing theory, assembly, and proper bail attachment.
Prism will fire your pieces and they will be available for pick up
a few days later. Basic bails are included. No experience
required. Glass Cutting 101 is recommended, but not required.

Three Fused Business Card Holders $55 worth of Fun!
Who says you can't mix work and play! By popular request we are offering a "Just for Fun" class
that will appeal to anyone you know that likes glass and has a desk! The best thing about this class
is that you don't have to have any experience at all to participate! We will cut the black, white, or
clear bases and provide all the design elements you need to create
three cute gifts. Both firings and all materials included. We will then
fire your creations twice in our kilns.

Glass Cutting 101, or Intro to Cutting $45
Glass cutting is a basic skill that is a must if you are working
with glass or plan to. During this skills class you will learn the
basics of glass cutting including tools, safety, pattern cutting,
and grinding. Whether you are doing stained glass or plan on
fusing, classes are geared towards the needs of the students.
By the end, you will have cut straight pieces, circles, and
everything in between. You will have use of our tools during
class. No experience necessary.

Decal Daze $65
Add creativity to your pendants by using decals and
manufacturing your own dynamic background glass. It's easier
than you think. We will teach a Glassline painting technique
and show you how to properly apply and fire decals. You will
make 4 dynamic pendants while learning about paint, decals,
contrast, and color mixing!
Tues May 8, 6 to 8:00pm
Frequent Fusers, pendants ($6) and more
The next step to your fusing addiction: this open studio time is
for individuals who desire to make fused pendants after they
have taken our introductory class - Fused Glass Pendants.
Come and join your fellow fusers for community and fun. It's
also a great place to fuel your creativity - even if you do have a
home studio. System 96 precut squares, rectangles, and scrap
will be provided, as well as, noodles, stringers, and confetti.
We ask that fusers make a minimum of 8 pieces. Bails and
dichroic are available for purchase. Although this is not a
formal class with lecture, we require a $25 deposit to secure
your space. Cutting skills are not required, but without them your options will be more limited. If you
would like to learn to cut class, consider taking Glass Cutting 101.

Whimsical Groutless Mosaic $99
This class is a fun way to change up your mosaic
knowledge. Using specialty mastics you can create a
colorful and interesting mosaic with no grouting! Using
embellishments provided by Prism, you will design and
create a beautiful glass mosaic mirror. We will also have
specialty items for sale during the class and students are
encouraged to bring in their own costume jewelry, beads,
crystals and more. Don't forget aunt Agatha's broach! Not
sure if your bauble will work? - Bring it anyway! This class
will be so much fun, you will be dying to do more!

Pot Pockets, $40 each
Create a cute Fused Wall or Window Pot Pocket that you can
fill with your favorite dried flowers. (So many of you fusers
asked us to create a pattern for this that we made some
extras up and have decided to give it away for free. So stop in
and check them out.) We created this class event so that all
of you that don't own a kiln have the opportunity to make your
own. We will cut the base glass to just the right size and
provide all the materials and design elements for your pot making pleasure.
Thursday May 31st, 6 - 8pm
Faux Woven Basket $70 plus glass
This 11" square basket would look great on any table, and is
fairly easy to build. You just need to select two
complimentary colors, cut your strips and assemble!The
spaces in between are empty and create a basketweave
effect. We have other samples in other colors in the studio
for your viewing pleasure. This class always fills very quickly,
so don't hesitate!
Saturday June 30, 1 - 3pm
Fused Fritted Tile $65
During this two-part class you will use frit and glass to create
a beautifully artistic tile. Use a design of your choice or
choose from the designs available. Pieces will then be fired at
Prism. During the first class we will schedule a time for you to
come in to add additional details using glass paint. If you
finish the class early, feel free to create another tile for only
$25. This class is great for anyone who is seeking to learn
more fusing skills and techniques. These skills could be used
on a larger scale to create plates, etc. Glass cutting skills are
required.
Tuesday June 19th, 6pm
Glass on Glass Mosaics $95
During this class you will make a 10" x 12" glass on glass
mosaic project. Choose from our patterns or design your own.
This project teaches the direct method of mosaics. Most
materials are provided including the frame. Cutting skills are
recommended but not required. This project cannot be
finished in a few hours, so there will be homework! *We will
schedule the grouting sessions during class!
Saturday June 2nd, 10:30-3:30
Fused Coral Bowl $70 + Glass
You will purchase one sheet of the color of your choice as a
base glass and use our fusing bin extras to create a modestly
structurally sound bowl that represents coral. Remember, it's
mostly art, and definitely not suitable for the dishwasher!
Tremendously tropical. For experienced fusers only with cutting
experience. Limit 4 students per class.
Tuesday June 5th, 6pn
Painting with MUD, a fusing process $140.00
Includes Mud Kit and lunch!
Using this very Unique texture medium, you will create fun
and dynamic images in glass. This Mud technique allows you
to create sculptural effects on glass, terra cotta, etc, with just a
few simple brushstrokes. You will learn how to sculpt with a
brush and create two 4" fused masterpieces. See the samples
in the store. Pictures just don't do it justice. You can do this, I
promise!
