Mission:
Your Habitat ReStore is dedicated to being the donation center
of choice for many of the new and gently used products
deserving a second useful life rather than contributing to the
local landfill.
This Habitat ReStore exists to assist the local Habitat for
Humanity of Greater Plymouth in providing support and
funding in order to reduce substandard housing in our area,
one family, one home at a time.
Thank you for helping us with your donations and patronage
because without your generous donations we do not exist.
We are currently open on Wednesdays 10:00 AM to Noon and
Thursday, Friday, and Saturday 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM for your
donation questions and shopping pleasure.
ALL DONATIONS ARE SUBJECT TO ACCEPTANCE BASED ON THE JUDGEMENT OF THE
RESTORE MANAGER OR ON-SITE DONATION AMBASSADOR. PLEASE CALL US PRIOR
TO DROPPING YOUR DONATION AT THE RESTORE TO ENSURE THE ACCEPTABILITY OF
THE OFFER.

INFORMATION AND DONATION DISCRIPTION WILL EXPIDITE OUR RESPONSE FOR
POSSIBLE PICKUP. ALL DONATIONS TO BE PICKED UP MUST BE EASILY ACCESSABLE TO
THE DONATION AMBASSADOR(S). WE RESERVE THE RIGHT TO ACCEPT THE OFFERED
DONATION IN WHOLE OR IN PART AND WE MAY SELECTIVELY ACCEPT AN ASSORTED
OFFER, LEAVING THAT WHICH IS NOT CONSIDERED USABLE IN THE OFFERED
CONDITION OR DOES NOT FIT THE STORE’S SALES CRITERIA
What We May Accept by Item Type
Adhesives:
New, unopened, and not expired. No “professional” or “industrial use only.”
Appliances – general criteria for donation acceptance:
All appliances must be in good working order, reasonably clean and have instructions or owners’
manuals where possible. All parts and accessories must also be provided or a list of what is not being
donated given to the ReStore – lack of parts may prevent acceptance of donation as determined by the
ReStore Manager or on-site Donation Ambassador.
Appliances, Large less than 6 years old:
Refrigerators, freezers, electric cooktops and electric stoves, gas cooktops and gas stoves (must indicate
whether propane or natural gas and be labeled as such) trash compactors, countertop microwave ovens
and under cabinet microwave ovens, wine coolers.
Appliances, Large less than 5 years old:
Electric dishwashers – under counter and portable; electric clothes washing machines, electric clothes
dryers, gas clothes dryers (must indicate whether propane or natural gas and be labeled as such),
dehumidifiers and window air conditioners – not more than 15,000 btu and btu rating must be indicated
on air conditioner at the time of donation.
Appliances, Small less than 4 years old:
Small appliances – i.e. toaster, toaster oven, coffee maker, vacuum cleaner, mixers, etc..
Books / entertainment media
Includes but is not limited to HD DVDs, DVDs, CDs, Cassette Tapes, traditional records, VHS Tapes
(not homemade recordings) Hardback books, paperback books and children’s books All must be in
good, usable condition.
Cabinets/Countertops
New, not previously installed cabinets and countertops are preferred. Used cabinets and countertops
will be accepted on a case by case offer. Damaged items may be accepted on a case by case basis
provided the damage is not severe or would require extensive work to utilize. No cabinets with lead
paint or particle board construction as they cannot be accepted. Counter tops must be critical to the
salability of the cabinets being donated or they cannot be accepted.
Caulk:
New, unopened, never frozen and not expired. No “professional” or “industrial use only.”
Ceiling Fans and accessories:
New, in the box with all parts, including hanging/ceiling box bracket, style reasonably up to date with
energy use rating indicated. Used in working order with all blades, brackets and lights may be accepted.
Doors
New or used pre-hung doors in frames, both exterior and interior, without cracks or missing glass panes.
No lead paint on the door or frame. Any glass door must have all of the hardware and not be cracked or
fogged in any way. Bi-fold doors and louvered doors only accepted new and in box with all of the
hardware. Doors that are pre-drilled or cut to receive hinges or handles without frames cannot be
accepted.
Drywall & Accessories:
Joint Compound (Mud) —New, unopened, and not expired.
Tape —Clean and dry, never damp. Partial rolls accepted.
Corner Bead —Full, undamaged sticks; if rolled, partial rolls accepted.
Electrical
New / not previously installed residential items only such as rough electrical items, residential grade
conduit, breakers, boxes, lights, doorbells, faceplates, light bulbs (EnergyStar preferred) telephone /
cable accessories, outdoor lighting security lighting labeled with the length and type never used
electrical wire.
Fasteners:
Nails—Sorted and labeled by type and size, boxed or sacked, no rust. If not in original packaging, must
be 1 pound worth or greater.
Screws—Sorted and labeled by type and size, boxed or sacked, no rust. If not in original packaging,
must be 1 pound worth or greater.
Flooring
New / not previously installed residential items such as tile and associated sundries sufficient to do at
least a 10 ft by 10 ft area (110 square feet minimum) in a matching pattern and product; wood flooring
and associated sundries to do at least a 10 ft by 10 ft area (110 square feet minimum) in a matching
pattern and product. Products for cleaning and repairing flooring (non-toxic and non-flammable) are
also welcome. Sub-flooring is also accepted in full 2 ft by 2 ft or standard “hardback” sizes.
Furniture
Tables, chairs, bureaus, desks, floor lamps, table lamps, chest of drawers, pantries, file cabinets, bed
frames, head and foot boards – all must be in good resalable condition and clean.
Hardware
Almost anything as long as it is not previously used.
Door Locks and Knobs—fully functional with all parts, packaged/sacked individually.
Hinges—all types, must have all parts.
Miscellaneous—should be specifically sorted and boxed/sacked, clean, operable, no rust.
Lighting
Fixtures – Interior and Exterior: Complete and in good working order (no frayed cords or wires).
Lamps: With shades and bulbs - at staff discretion.
Fluorescent light fixtures – T8 or smaller - Clean and in working order are acceptable.
New light bulbs, fluorescent, incandescent, energy-saving, clean and in working order are happily
accepted but we can no longer accept T-12 florescent bulbs.
Lumber
PROVIDED SPACE IS AVAILABLE TO DISPLAY AND IS PRE-APPROVED
FOR ACCEPTANCE BY THE RESTORE MANAGER OR ON-SITE DONATION
AMBASSADOR.
New, not previously used free of rot, nails, and screws and checking. Full and half sheets of plywood or
similar material; full lengths of lumber, 8 ft or more; trim and scrap lumber should be at least 4 ft in
length is acceptable.
Used lumber in good condition and not containing or having lead paint, from old home deconstruction,
remodeling or demolition provided it passes inspection for reuse by the ReStore Manager or on-site
Donation Ambassador before delivery or pickup. Old trim and ornamental work may also be accepted
upon inspection.
Paint
New, full, unopened non-rusted cans of white latex paint or tinted paint with the color sample on the top
of the can and the consumer labels intact and readable, and with the following additional qualifications
are considered acceptable. Please we cannot use damaged cans or paint that has possibly been frozen or
that is “Industrial Use Only” or “Professional Use Only.” Any donated paint should also be less then
two years old.
We do accept oil based stain and paint provided they also meet all of the guidelines listed above for
latex paint.
Businesses making paint donations should provide MSDS sheets, if available.
We do accept new containers of spray paint that is more than two years old and the agitator ball rattles
freely.
Paint Accessories:
Any paint accessories such as rollers, brushes, masking tape, drop cloths, latex / non-latex gloves – in
new or not previously used condition.
Plumbing / Fashion Bath
New, not previously installed residential items such as faucets-complete sets only, sinks, vanities, toilets,
towel bars, soap dishes, TP holders, toothbrush holders, safety/handicap grab bars & support items are
normally acceptable..
Fiberglass bathtubs or shower stalls that are new, complete, standard size, not damaged or defective in
any way.
Other related items also includes sump pumps, well supplies and accessories, septic system supplies and
drainage products, Landscaping sprinkler items, all types of pipe and tubing for residential use –
minimum length of 4 feet,
Shingles
New cedar shingles in full bundles only.
Shutters
New or really old Wood shutters, interior and exterior. If old and painted must not have lead paint.
Tile, Floor and Wall
New only, clean, not outdated, boxed for transport. Quantity must be sufficient to cover 64 or more
square feet of floor space or 48 square feet of wall space.
Tools, Hand
New and previously used hand tools are acceptable provided they are in a ready-to-use condition – for
example, a hand saw with dull teeth would not be accepted but the same saw with sharp teeth would be.
Tools, Power
New hand and table power tools are acceptable provided they are designed for the home owner / do it
yourself type of consumer. Industrial / commercial grade tools accepted at the judgment of the ReStore
Manager or on-site Donation Ambassador at pickup or delivery time.
Tools, Outdoor
New hand and rechargeable battery power tools such as rakes, shovels, trimmers, snow shovels are
acceptable provided they are designed for the home owner / do it yourself type of consumer. GAS
Powered tools will be accepted, new or gently used provided there is no gas in the tool. Manager’s Call.
Vents (floor, Ceiling, Return)
We accept new, not previously installed residential, no commercial, items please. Duct work and flex
duct insulation is accepted at the Manager or Donation Ambassador’s discretion.
Wallpaper
New, sealed in original plastic with size and type labeling, reasonably up to date, not discolored quantity
sufficient to cover the walls of an average room (not less than approximately 400 square feet..
Borders and wall decorations/decals that are new and packaged are also acceptable.
Items we do not currently accept as Donations





































Anything containing asbestos (including flooring) or anything possibly containing leadbased paint or is not in working condition such as appliances, lighting, tools, etc..
Automotive Parts
Bedding materials and mattresses
Bicycles
Bi-fold doors – if used and not in box
Blinds, shades, curtains, regardless of condition – very limited salability
Carpeting
Ceiling Fans, ceiling fan blades, ceiling fan lights if used
Cinder block
Ceiling Tile and associated hardware
Clothing, shoes, purses
Computer equipment including printers, monitors, scanners, faxes etc.
Donate - these to www.micrecycle.org.
Countertops, with cutouts for sink and or faucet
Damaged/ broken furniture
Decorative items (artwork, collectables, knick knacks, vases, etc.)
Drapes, curtains or rods
Exercise Equipment, bicycles
Fabric (Curtains, Draperies, furniture with cloth)
Furniture: metal office furniture, upholstered (such as sofas), mattresses, box
springs, infant furniture
Garage doors
Household items (dishes, pots, glasses, kitchenware, linens, etc.)
Items under a quid pro quo are never accepted. i.e. I would like to donate a brand new
refrigerator if I you will also take the used toilet
Musical instruments, sheet music
Office supplies – See manager
Opened Paint
Paint thinner, Turpentine or hazardous, caustic, acidic, flammable, or otherwise dangerous
fluids, materials, or containers for these materials or other hazardous or toxic chemicals
Pesticides
Pillows
Stuffed animals/ figures
Shower Doors
Shutters, vinyl, new, used or painted
Telecommunication devices such as radios, telephones, boom boxes, etc
Tile, floor or wall, that has been previously installed or will not cover at least 64 sq. feet
Toilets and toilet seats that have been installed or used
Toys

Vinyl Siding
