Served as an Administrator-in-Training at Villa Angela Care Center. With 235 licensed beds, Villa Angela is the second
largest nursing home in Franklin County and provides a wide range of services including skilled care, various therapies,
Alzheimer’s/dementia care, hospice care, pain management, ventilator care and behavioral health programs.

Established a custom home building business in Central Ohio primarily focused on high-end residences. Functioned as
general contractor taking total project management responsibility working with clients to find a lot, develop a workable plan,
choose materials that fit a targeted budget, obtain financing on good terms and construct a well-built home on time and
within budget.

General operations responsibilities with start-up business developing polymer enclosure for automobiles. The product was
designed to protect cars from the elements similar to a garage. Oversaw product design and development, identification and

Responsible for all five operating departments, including two plants, Materials Management, Warehousing and Distribution
and Human Resources for $88 million food manufacturer. Served as General Counsel and Corporate Secretary.
Operations Management
 Saved $1.5 million, 50% above target (1994). Savings were achieved through re-engineering ($500M
reduction in payroll) and improved manufacturing operations, efficiencies and yields ($1 million).
 Initiated Total Quality Management program, developing 23 cross-departmental teams, resulting in
improved margins and increased quality.
 Increased plant capacity by 25% through improved layout of plant equipment and material flow and
through cost-effective automation of processes.
 Transferred over 20 products to plant as a result of acquisition of California company.
 Instituted and led annual strategic planning process.
General Counsel
 Negotiated move from traditional health insurance coverage to primary care P.P.O., resulting in
$400,000 in annual savings; managed acquisition of $10 million California company; led securities
registration process taking the company public in April, 1992; directed union contract negotiations; and
managed exit from Ohio Workers’ Compensation system with 3 year savings of $600,000.
 Oversaw real and personal property sales, litigation, trademark and patent matters, debt financing and
contracted purchases of two highest cost materials. As Corporate Secretary, significantly involved with
the Board including written and oral presentations.
