Ron Brown Scholar Program: African-American seniors may be eligible
for $10,000/yr renewable scholarship ($40,000 total). Applicants are
evaluated on academic excellence, leadership potential, community

Scholarship Slam: Awards $1,000. Must be 25 years old or younger

Alpha Phi Alpha MLK Scholarship: Scholarship for African-American
11/11/15 males seeking a baccalaureate degree. Requirements: GPA of 2.5 or
(extended higher, active in both school and community. Application, transcript, photo
deadline) head shot, 2 letters of recommendation required. Pick up an application
packet in the counseling office. Extended deadline.
Danforth Scholars Program: Awards partial- and full-tuition renewable
scholarship. To be considered, students must be nominated by a teacher
by November 15th. After being nominated, students must submit
application, short answers, essay, and transcript to the committee by
11/15/15 1/15/16. Student must also apply to Wash U. including essay,
recommendations, and ACT or SAT scores by 1/15/15. Eligible students
demonstrate strong academics, school/community involvement, and high
moral character.

Stokes Educational Scholarship Program: Open to students planning to
major in computer science or computer/electrical engineering. Scholarship
includes $30,000/year towards tuition, free housing, summer travel

Elks Foundation Most Valuable Student Scholarship: Open to all high
school students who are US citizens planning to pursue a 4-year degree.
Evaluated on scholarship, leadership, and financial need. Awards 500 4year scholarships, ranging from $1,000 to $12,000/yr. Download the

“Mean Stinks” Scholarship: 3 awards given for $10,000. To enter,
students are asked to share how they will bring an end to bullying once
and for all while living the Mean Stinks mantra of spreading nice to make a
positive impact on those around them. Students must be 17 years old or

Gates Millennium Scholarship: Excellent scholarship opportunity open
to African American, American Indian/Alaska Native, Asian & Pacific
Islander American, or Hispanic American senior. Needs: 3.3+ unweighted
GPA, will enroll as full time college student in the fall, has leadership
abilities, and meets Federal Pell Grant eligibility criteria (determined
through filing the FAFSA). Supports cost of education by covering unmet
need. Recommender must also complete a form. Application available

YWCA Bright Futures Scholarship: Awards $1,500. Open to female
seniors who plan to continue education, not limited to college. Must have
a 2.5 GPA or higher. Should demonstrate leadership qualities, strong
character, potential to affect change, courage to overcome obstacles, and

YWCA La Voz Latina Scholarship: Open to seniors of Hispanic descent
who live in Winnebago, Boone, Stephenson, or Jo Davies Counties. Must
have a 2.5 GPA and have plans to enroll in a college or university.
Evaluation based on transcripts, ACT scores, level of involvement in
school and community, essay, 2 letters of rec (3-4 are encouraged), and
financial need. Application may be downloaded at

Navy Reserve Officer Training Corps (NROTC) Scholarship: Four year
scholarship covering full tuition, books, fees, and uniforms plus a monthly
stipend. Students can apply for 1 of 3 scholarship options: Navy, Marines
or Nurse which will prepare student to be an officer in the Navy. After
graduation, student will be a commissioned officer serving in the Navy.
Students must have an ACT of 22 in English and 21 in Math. For more

Awards 1 student $1,000 per district. Open to students who have
completed the first semester of their senior year of high school with plans
to attend an Illinois college or university. Must be sponsored by the DAR

Scholarship: 2 students will be awarded $1,000. Open to female seniors
who live in Winnebago, Boone, or Ogle County. Must have a 3.5 GPA and
have plans to pursue a major in Science, Technology, Engineering, or

Jane Lyons Memorial Scholarship: Awards $2,500 to one girl,
renewable. Open to females living in Winnebago or Boone County or a
participant in a Rockford Park District golf program. Must enjoy playing
the game of golf and plan to enroll in full-time 2- or 4-year degree program
for fall 2016. Application requirements: Provide a letter that includes

Aspiring Animation Professional Scholarship Program: One-year
non-renewable $1000 scholarship available to seniors pursuing an
animation related degree. Selection is based on academic success, the
application, and 500-1000 word essay answering the question "What
specific skill do you most want to develop?" Students must have a
passion for an animation &/or design related career. Submit online at

Global Lift Equipment Scholarship: Awards $500. Must have a 2.5
