Science Week 2005
Science Week Ireland 2005 is the celebration and demonstration of science, engineering, technology
and innovation in Ireland. From the 13th – 20th November, people of all ages will have an opportunity
to explore, discover, experiment or invent their way to a better understanding of Irish innovation and
its relevance to Ireland’s economic prosperity, through hundreds of events held nationwide. You can
register your event(s) below and order Science Week merchandise. Please note that you must register
an event to order merchandise. You can find out all about this year's theme 'The Science Behind
Entertainment' further down the page.

Science Week 2005 - Theme
With a view to making science more relevant to our everyday lives, the theme for Science Week
Ireland 2005 is The Science Behind Entertainment - tapping into the arts and culture to focus on the
science behind popular areas of leisure and entertainment namely:
Music
Movies
Sport
This is the second year that we've introduced a theme. The reason we do so is to provide a link
between all of the activities taking place in Ireland throughout Science Week Ireland. You don't have
to use the theme as your event title but it would be fantastic if you could keep it in mind when
planning your activities. It may even give you some inspiration and help you focus your event further!
