The objectives of the course are to provide knowledge of the basic approaches to psychotherapy and family counseling; to familiarise students with the structure of the basic concepts used in psychotherapy and family counseling; regarding the current state of scientific knowledge to study the basic psychological mechanisms of the processes occurring in the family; to provide notion of the basic phenomena that occur in the practice of psychotherapy and family counseling, of the basic methods of diagnostics and work with these phenomena; to form the students’ basic facilities of planning and conducting counseling discussions on family problems; to form the conceptual framework of family psychotherapy; to familiarise students with the basic trends in family psychotherapy; to familiarise students with planning of the psychotherapeutic process with the family; to form the basic attitudes of professional ethics in the psychotherapeutic interaction with the family. Motivation of Social Behavior Semester: 7 ECTS points: 3 Hours: 108 The course aims to develop the understanding of the basic social and psychological categories and concepts related to the motivation. The objectives of the course are to provide the notion of the variety of approaches to understanding the motivation and motives of social behavior; to familiarise students with the patterns and principles of the motivational structure of the personality that determine their social behavior; to build skills of applying research methods and motives diagnostics. Prenatal and Perinatal Psychology Semester: 7 ECTS points: 3 Hours: 108 The course aims to study infant development before and after birth. The objectives of the course are to study the basic categories and concepts during the prenatal and perinatal period research; to reveal the nature of prenatal and perinatal psychology as a theoretical and practical discipline; to study the key practical trends used in the prenatal and perinatal examination; to analyse the current trends of prenatal and perinatal psychology; to study the methods of maternity diagnosis and create programs of psychological support during pregnancy; to study the basic psychological characteristics and patterns of the pregnancy period, birth process and postpartum state; to achieve a certain level of literacy sufficient for independent work with scientific literature, research and development of various social and psychological issues to the extent that is sufficient for students’ future careers. Political Psychology Semester: 8 ECTS points: 2 Hours: 72 The course aims to study the basic categories and methods of Political Psychology. The objectives of the course are to study the basic approaches of political psychology to political events; promote the study of the principles of analysis of political phenomena from psychological perspective, to help the students through the collective and individual work learn how to plan and conduct psychological studies of political phenomena, study people’s behavior and activity influenced by various political events; to encourage the development of professional identity of the future psychologists, as well as personal reflection. 13 Violence Preventive Measures Semester: 8 ECTS points: 2 Hours: 72 The course aims to study the patterns of development of the spiral of violence in the family and analyse the basic characteristics and types of violence in the family. The objectives of the course are to study people’s behavior, influenced by their involvement in compulsive actions; to analyse the place and role of preventive measures in domestic violence prevention; to locate the application areas of methods for violence prevention, as well as the features of its infliction; to achieve a certain level of literacy sufficient for independent work with scientific literature, research and development of various social and psychological issues to the extent that is sufficient for students’ future careers. Marketing Psychology Semester: 8 ECTS points: 4 Hours: 144 The course aims to study theory and practice of modern marketing and its psychological aspects. The objectives of the course are to familiarise students with the basic trends of theory and practice of modern marketing and its psychological aspects as socio-psychological phenomenon on the example of marketing challenge in modern organizations and business systems; to develop knowledge of a conceptual framework of social and psychological support of the marketing process, including the basic concepts related to the development and implementation of modern marketing techniques; to study the psychological aspects of the implementation of modern marketing techniques; to study theoretical foundations of design, organisation and implementation of marketing strategies and programs for different types of product; to study practical and theoretical foundations of the modern business systems analysis from the perspective of system design and implementation of a collectively distributed environments in organizations; to conduct analysis and familiarise students with the basic theoretical and practical conventions of building cooperation between the organisation and its customers; to familiarise with the basic theoretical and practical conventions of implementing psychological patterns and mechanisms in modern quality control technologies (TQM, LT) in business systems; to develop the skill in key technologies of new products development in modern organisations with the theoretical and practical instruments of modern Russian and foreign psychology. The objectives of the course are to consider gender issues and roles in marital relations; to familiarise with the dynamics of relations between spouses during family development; to analyse the issues of adaptation in the family; to review the compatibility and marital satisfaction issues of spouses; to study techniques and methods of the research, diagnosis and correction of the marital relationship. Psychology of Collective Consciousness and Mass Communications Semester: 8 14 ECTS points: 4 Hours: 144 The course aims to familiarise students with the basic principles and trends of the research in the field of psychology of mass communication. The objectives of the course are to form general notion of the content, structure and features of the psychology of mass communications as an independent scientific discipline; to familiarise students with application methods of the social and psychological knowledge within the course; to form understanding of psychological aspects and effects of mass communication; to study the theoretical and methodological basis of the research of mass communication as a social phenomenon and a social process; to study information influence of mass communications on different social structures; to reveal application areas of social psychological knowledge in professional and other activities of specialists with higher education. Child and Parent Relationship Semester: 8 ECTS points: 4 Hours: 144 The course aims to study child and parent relationship from the perspective of psychology. The objectives of the course are to reveal the nature of the formation of child and parent relationship with modern approaches of family psychology; to review the patterns of communication in the family, between parents and their children as a process of communication, interaction; to analyse the basic types of child upbringing, disharmonious upbringing, patterns and features of their demonstration; to study the basic features of child and parent relationship, the nature of emotional relationship in the family, upbringing and parenthood motives, social control, demands and taboos (prohibitions), sanctions; to analyse the degree of stability and consistency of family upbringing; to reveal application areas of psychological knowledge of the course in other activity areas of specialists with higher education; to achieve a certain level of literacy sufficient for independent work with scientific literature, research and development of various social and psychological issues to the extent that is sufficient for students’ future careers. Social Competence Workshop Semester: 6 ECTS points: 2 Hours: 72 The course aims to help students form understanding of social and cultural system, its groups and man’s place in this system (cognitive component). The objectives of the course are to develop and in certain cases correct social attitudes required for effective communication and interaction in the social and cultural reality; to stimulate professional need to implement the ideas of multicultural harmony in society and educational institutions (motivational value component); to develop cohesive, balanced, positive emotional attitude to one’s social cultural system, as well as the social cultural sensitivity, emotionally positive and tolerant attitude to various social and cultural systems and their representatives (the emotional component); to form the skills of positive and effective communication and interaction in accordance to the values of social and cultural systems (behavioral component) Practical Course of Social Psychology Semester: 5-7 ECTS points: 3 Hours: 108 15 The course aims to study the basic methods, techniques, research approaches developed in social psychology. The objectives of the course are to study the ways and means of personal socialization analysis, formation of its attitudes and behavior; to facilitate understanding of analysis principles of social and psychological processes; to help students during the collective and individual work to learn how to plan and carry out socio-psychological research at different levels and complexity; facilitate the development of students’ skills and interpretation of the various sociopsychological research; to apply the methods of research and analysis of the basic features and types of social groups and principles of their formation and development; to study the principles of people’s behavior and activity, influenced by their place in social groups, as well as features of group behavior and the relationship between the subjects: individuals, groups and society; to encourage students' motivation to acquire knowledge of the social and psychological knowledge, to promote development of professional identity of the future psychologists, as well as personal reflection. Family Psychology Workshop Semester: 5-7 ECTS points: 3 Hours: 108 The course aims to form skills of working with families in crisis. The objectives of the course are to integrate students' knowledge of the basic concepts of psychological approaches and methods that compose the theoretical and activity-based counseling to families at different stages of ontogenesis; to ensure understanding of ethical principles governing activities of a psychologist who provides psychological support to families; to form notion of the identity requirements of the counselor working with various family problems; to inform on specific diversity issues, resolved by counseling the family and its individual members; to expand the basis for students’ personal and professional selfimprovement as future clinical psychologists. Social and Psychological Workshop Semester: 7 ECTS points: 3 Hours: 108 The course aims to acquire the skills of planning and managing the social and psychological workshop. The objectives of the course are to form the notion about the basic trends of social and psychological workshop, its goals, objectives and methods; the basic principles and effects of socio-psychological workshop; the basic theoretical conventions, goals and objectives, teaching methods, techniques and principles of drawing up a programme; to acquire skills of drawing up a programme and of social and psychological workshop. Public Relations Semester: 6 ECTS points: 3 Hours: 108 The course aims to analyse the profession of a PR (public relations) specialist and the notion of an effective organization of such profession. The objectives of the course are to familiarise students with the development and its prospects of public relations as a specific domain, both Russian and foreign experience in the organization of public relations; to study the patterns of interaction among public relations subjects - state and local authorities, economic subjects, political parties, public organisations, citizens; to study the basic models, technologies and techniques of public relations; to familiarise 16 with the legal and ethical regulation of experts and services of public relations; to conduct a comparative analysis; to study the psychological foundations and mechanisms of public relations. 17
