Requirements:
 Research 12 architectural buildings from different countries and stick
images in your folio.

Enlarge and sketch an interesting portion of each of the 12 buildings.
Refine two of your best sketches in a 16cm by 16cm square. Your
best will be used as your final tile design.

Annotate what you like and dislike in each composition and why you
chose your final.

Investigate the 2 architectural designs that you have chosen for your
refined images. Eg are they Roman (ancient) or contemporary
Australian (current). Research
 Who designed them?
 The size
 Materials used
 Characteristics – Arches, brick,
pattern, sculptural features etc.

Colour code areas on your sketch that will be excavated and areas
that will be built up. Red for excavated areas and blue for built up
areas.


Follow the instructions for clay work
Choose your glass and carefully with tweezers place your glass into
the excavated areas.
Evaluation:
On completion of your ceramic tile write an evaluation of the success of
your practical piece.
Answer in full sentence form – number your answers.

Write up the process involved from start to finish ie. Research through
to finished tile.
Write up each TECHNIQUE you used and a definition explaining how
it is done. (joining techniques, excavation technique, how you made
the glass stick, the tools you used and anything else you can think of.)

Describe your COMPOSITION. (remember to discuss negative and
positive space, asymmetrical and symmetrical balance, detail, pattern,
texture, colour).
