THE PAXTON SWEDISH HERITAGE SOCIETY
We are dedicated to preserving the Swedish Heritage of Paxton and to educate and build on its
ethnic heritage.
One scholarship is awarded each year. The size of the award is: $500.00 (to be applied towards
tuition, books and fees only).
Basic Qualifications:
 Senior student in good academic standing with evidence of at least a “C” grade point
average
 Plans on entering the music, culinary arts, or art/design field
 Enrollment full-time at an accredited two or four year college, university or trade
vocational school
 Evaluation of applicant will be through written essay and two references
 Some consideration will be given to those students with Scandinavian Heritage
The recipient should demonstrate sound character, life purposes and have evidence of
participation in school and/or community serving activities.
Applicants must submit an application and write an essay. Essays must be typed and should
include an explanation of why applicant is deserving of this scholarship. Please attach essay
separately.
