The Illinois Hydraulic Fracturing Regulatory Act & You”
Presented by: Michael Ziri; Illinois Dept. of Natural Resources
On June 17, 2013, Governor Quinn signed the Hydraulic Fracturing
Regulatory Act, with the strongest, most comprehensive regulations
on hydraulic fracturing (fracking) in the nation. Ziri, legislative
liaison for IDNS, will discuss the elements of the law and how it
pertains to property and landowners, environmental protections,
and public participation.
Small Acreage Farming
Presented by: Steve McIntyre; Old Northwest Land Company
Pilot, realtor, small acreage owner and marketing executive, Steve
will talk about his experience in direct marketing cut flowers, dried
flowers, and hay from his farm in Northwest Illinois.
About The Chicago Farmers Farmland Fair
The Farmland Fair will be held at the Weitendorf Agricultural Education Center
in Joliet on Saturday, February 1, 2014. Sponsored by The Chicago Farmers,
this year’s fair will feature seventeen (17) sessions. In addition to the excellent
educational sessions, a diverse blend of exhibitor booths will be on display
covering all aspects of buying & selling farmland as well as other vendors who
have an interest in all-things farmland. The registration fee of $50.00 includes
access to the exhibitor hall, all breakout sessions, and lunch.
