Enjoy an evening of live music and artist receptions in over two dozen businesses. The art is for sale, and after the Art Walk will hang for two months. Auburn Old Town Gallery features “Very Wearable Art”, where you’ll find one-of-a-kind jewelry, garments, textile and accessories to adorn yourself (or your lovely partner). Informal modeling of scarves, jackets, jewelry and leather work by featured artists Ardith Grey, Rebecca Martinez and Jennifer Lile will take place at 6:45, 7:45 and 8:45pm. Architect/Painter Henry Trucks presents “Paint Space | 4 Works | 4 Media" at new Art Walk venue Christian Science Reading Room in downtown Auburn. What makes a work of art "original" or "an original"? Trucks challenges viewers to consider a new paradigm. He presents works in four different media: oil on canvas, acrylic on canvas, ink on canvas, and ink on aluminum. The Arts Building Gallery presents the 19th Annual Autumn Art Studios Tour Preview Show. Fifty-five Placer County artists are included this year, and the Preview Show is the perfect place to start your planning for the Studios Tour, which takes place November 9-11. Studios Tour tickets will also be on sale during the evening. Southside Art Center is wrapping up several works of art in preparation for the final Art Walk of the season. A recently completed series of ceramic face jugs modeled after Southern folk pottery of the late 1800s will be featured as well as functional ceramics. One major work, a 400 lb. concrete statue of a Chinese god of knowledge, which was commissioned for a fundraiser in Sacramento, will be on display via photo documentation. Various artists will display mixed media, acrylic paintings on wood, and knit objects for the holidays. The theme “Changing Colors” was chosen by studio artists to represent autumn and the introduction of some holidaythemed art. Truckee artist Eva S. Nichols presents "Colors of Nature" at Tango Frozen Yogurt. Eva's colorful watercolor paintings and collages are inspired by nature and the many places she has visited during her extensive travels. Nature is her main subject, and Eva is best described as an "impressionist colorist". She uses both traditional and unconventional methods of applying paint on paper to achieve the desired effect and mood she wants to capture. Carol Owens presents “Art Identity, Nature’s Nuance” at the Amber Collection & Jewelry. Carol recreates and imbues her personal relationship and perception of the natural world through her collective medium, which allows her to memorialize and commemorate occasions using floral design. Live music provided by the Auburn Arts Commission includes the Ophir Prison Marching Kazoo Band at the Clock Tower at 6:00 and 7:45pm. Their performances are a unique, highenergy blend of music, humor, and antics. Paige Anderson and the Fearless Kin will perform at Central Square. In Old Town after dark, enjoy Berserker and more Burning Man fun with the Ophir Prison Marching Kazoo Band.
