Agenda for 2013 Asia Nano Images Competition
The development of nanotechnology is over two decades. Lots of efforts have been
devoted to the research of nanotechnology, especially the fabrication and characterization
of materials in the nano scale from academia and industries all over the world. There are
plenty of fascinating and wonderful results in the microstructure analysis of materials in
nano scale. In order to encourage young students to work on the research of
nanotechnology and nanomaterials, Department of Materials Engineering, Ming Chi
University of Technology (MCUT), New Taipei City, Taiwan, announces this “2013
Asia Nano Images Competition” to students and professors, who have collaborated
relationship with MCUT in Universities of Asia area. Invited attendees are welcome to
submit their articles of SEM or/and TEM nano images regarding the research work on
nanotechnology and nanomaterials to MCUT.
COMPETITION RULE
Please submit your article, in word format, according to its image type: (1) SEM
image or (2) TEM image. Please insert your image in the attached word document. The
size of the image is limited to 150 × 180 mm. A scale bar is needed to highlight the scale
in each image. The minimum resolution of submitted image is 450 dpi. A description
within 400 words in English is also required to introduce the background of your
article/image. Judges will give scores according to the following standards: (1) Contents
30%, Difficulty 30%, Description 20% and Originality 20%.
AWARD
Awards for (1) SEM image group and (2) TEM image group are listed below. The
submitted articles will be ranked according to their scores obtained from judges and 6 top
ranked articles will be awarded from (1) SEM image group and (2) TEM image group,
respectively, for the following prizes:

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT
1. Please submit your article, in word format (See Appendix I) and the COPYRIGHT
AGREEMENT (See Appendix II) together, to Prof. Ting-Yu Liu, Department of
Materials Engineering, MCUT via e-mail (e-mail address: tyliu@mail.mcut.edu.tw)
before December 05, 2013.
2. The awarded articles will be announced on 17:00 Taiwan time December 10, 2013 in
the website http://mse.mcut.edu.tw/bin/home.php and also by the e-mail.
3. The awarding ceremony will be held in Ming Chi University of Technology, New
Taipei City, Taiwan. (The date would be announced later)
