Jonathan Harker’s thoughts after he discovered the Count laying the table in the dining room was that he realized that the Count didn’t have any servants and that he was doing all of the work around the castle. (pg. 38)

Count Dracula claims to be the ancestor of Attila the Hun. (pg. 39)

3. What does the Count warn Jonathan not to do when he is alone at night?

Count Dracula warns Jonathan Harker not to sleep anywhere in the castle except his own room because there are chances of bad dreams in other parts of the castle. He should be safe in his own room. (pg. 45)

4. Describe the way Jonathan Harker sees the Count leave the Castle.

Jonathan Harker sees Count Dracula leave the castle by climbing out of the window, and down the wall (face down). He was moving quickly and like a lizard. (pg. 47)

The Count’s reaction to finding the women with Jonathan Harker was rage. He was furious and his face was deathly pale and his eyes were blazing. He threw one of the women. (pg. 53)

Jonathan Harker believes that he hears a low wail and a gasp coming from the bag the Count had thrown to the floor. He believed that it was a half-smothered child. (pg. 54)

Jonathan Harker discovers very little furnishings and other odd things. All of the furniture was covered with dust. He also finds piles of gold and stained chains and ornaments. In the corner of the room, he found a heavy door that opened to a stone passage. (pg. 64-65)
