INTRODUCTORY RITES
Welcome and Introduction
Greeting
Penitential Rite
Invitation
As we prepare to celebrate the mystery of Christ’s love,
let us acknowledge our failures
and ask the Lord for pardon and strength.
Lord Have Mercy
Jesus, I've forgotten the words that You have spoken
Promises that burned within my heart have now grown dim
With a doubting heart I follow the paths of earthly wisdom
Forgive me for my unbelief
Renew the fire again
Chorus
Lord have mercy
Christ have mercy
Lord have mercy on me
Repeat
I have built an altar where I worship things of men
I have taken journeys that have drawn me far from You
Now I am returning to Your mercies ever flowing
Pardon my transgressions
Help me love You again
Repeat Chorus
I have longed to know You and Your tender mercies
Like a river of forgiveness ever flowing without end
I bow my heart before You in the goodness of Your presence
Your grace forever shining
Like a beacon in the night
Repeat Chorus 2x

LITURGY OF THE WORD
A Reading from the Book of Sirach
My son, my daughter do not rob the poor person of their livelihood nor force the eyes of the
needy to turn away. Do not cause grief to those who are hungry. Do not cause further distress to
those in need. Do not exasperate the downtrodden nor keep the destitute waiting for your alms.
Do not reject a beggar in distress, do not reject nor avert your face from the poor. From the
needy turn not your eyes. Give no one reason to curse you; for if, in the bitterness of their soul,
they curse you, their creator will hear their prayer. Sirach 4:1-6
This is the word of the Lord.
R. Thanks be to God.
Response to the Reading
Holy words long preserved
for our walk in this world,
They resound with God's own heart
Oh, let the Ancient words impart.
Words of Life, words of Hope
Give us strength, help us cope
In this world, where e'er we roam
Ancient words will guide us Home.
CHORUS:
Ancient words ever true
Changing me, and changing you.
We have come with open hearts
Oh let the ancient words impart.
Holy words of our Faith
Handed down to this age.
Came to us through sacrifice
Oh heed the faithful words of Christ.
Holy words long preserved
For our walk in this world.
They resound with God's own heart
Oh let the ancient words impart.
CHORUS x4
We have come with open hearts
Oh let the ancient words impart.

A Reading from the Gospel of Matthew
When the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the angels with him, he will sit on his throne
in heavenly glory. All the nations will be gathered before him, and he will separate the people
one from another as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats. He will put the sheep on
his right and the goats on his left. Then the King will say to those on his right, 'Come, you who
are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the
creation of the world. For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and
you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and
you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.'
"Then the righteous will answer him, 'Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or
thirsty and give you something to drink? When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or
needing clothes and clothe you? When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit
you?' "The King will reply, 'I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these
brothers of mine, you did for me.('Mt 25: 31-40)
This is the Gospel of the Lord
