1) This cat/kitten is sold as a ________________. Cats/kittens purchased with breeding
rights are not guaranteed to produce kittens. In the case of a proven breeder, copy of
registrations of offspring will be provided upon request.
2) If the cat/kitten is sold as a pet and has not been spayed or neutered prior to leaving
Shaded-Paws Cattery, the purchaser has two weeks from the date of sale to have the
cat/kitten altered. If the cat/kitten has not been altered at the end of the two-week time
period, the breeder has the right to withhold the CFA registration papers on the said
cat/kitten indefinitely.

Shaded-Paws Cattery keeps up-to-date on the most recent studies performed by
the University of Florida’s College of Veterinarian Medicine. At this time the
university has shown that a kitten, as young as 8 weeks of age, can be
spayed/neutered without any ill effects or complications.
3) When referring to the said cat/kitten the term “show quality” is just the breeder’s
personal opinion and in no way can guarantee a cat/kitten’s success in the show circuit.
4) The purchaser agrees to provide adequate care for the cat/kitten and promises the
cat/kitten will be an indoors only cat.
5) The purchaser agrees to send the breeder pictures of the said cat/kitten along with a
written update when the cat/kitten reaches 6 months, 10 months, and again at 2 years of
age.

Shaded-Paws Cattery asks this for two reasons:
a) This assures the breeder that the said cat/kitten is being properly cared for.
b) This also allows the breeder to see how the cat/kitten has developed and
matured throughout the three stages of its life … kitten, young adult, and
adulthood.
6) Under no circumstances will this cat/kitten be sold, given, or leased to any pet shop,
research laboratory, or similar facility. If the purchaser is forced to part with the cat/kitten
for any reason it is the purchaser’s responsibility to inform the breeder and offer the
cat/kitten back. If the breeder cannot take the cat/kitten back, the breeder will assist the
purchaser in finding a new home for the cat/kitten. Under no circumstances will this
cat/kitten be transferred to a new owner without the breeder’s consent.
7) If the cat/kitten is sold with breeding rights it is understood that no first generation
offspring will be sold to anyone who maintains residence in the state of Florida.
8) No outside stud services may be provided, not even to cats co-owned by the purchaser.
9) The purchaser has 72 hours to return the cat/kitten at the purchaser’s expense, if not
verified healthy. The cat/kitten must be isolated from all other animals during this 72
hour period. All sales are final after 72 hours of the purchaser receiving the cat/kitten.
10) Breeder’s instructions for recommended care of the cat/kitten must be followed,
including a complete examination by a licensed veterinarian, during the first 72 hours of
receiving the said cat/kitten. Veterinary expenses incurred after the cat/kitten leaves
Shaded-Paws Cattery are the sole responsibility of the purchaser.
11) All cats/kittens shipped arrive with a written health certificate. Breeder agrees that the
cat/kitten is from an FELV negative cattery.
12) Should the cat/kitten become ill or die, a licensed veterinarian’s written report and
autopsy report, proving the cause of such illness or death originated at Shaded-Paws
Cattery will be required before adjustments will be made. This is limited to a replacement
cat/kitten of similar quality from the first available litter. No cash refunds will be
awarded.
13) Breeder’s guarantee for genetic defects will be for one year from the date of purchase
and will be limited to a replacement cat/kitten. Breeder’s guarantee is limited to the
original buyer of the cat/kitten.
14) The laws of Alachua, Florida will exclusively govern this contract, and any dispute
arising from this contract will be heard exclusively in a court of the said state.
