May 16 th & 17 th from 10am – 5pm
TinkerFest is a two-day event all about celebrating invention, creativity, making and tinkering throughout our region. This year’s event will take place on Saturday, May 16th and Sunday, May 17 th 2015 (10am-5pm).
TinkerFest is focused on igniting the “spark” in people that drives creation and learning by thinking with your hands, taking things apart, and creating something truly unique. This is our 3rd annual event, and we expect to welcome over 2,000 visitors. A new addition this year will be satellite events in Medford, Grants Pass and Klamath
Falls in March and April leading up to TinkerFest at ScienceWorks in May.
We want you, our local artisans and skilled folks around the Rogue Valley and beyond, to come share your trades and passions and inspire our community. TinkerFest is also a great opportunity for local companies and individuals to showcase their skills and promote their businesses. In years past, we have hosted approximately 30 creativity work stations for hands-on experiences, demonstrations by tinkerers at work, a car take-apart, as well as a panel discussion featuring national thought leaders. We want our visitors to experience and enjoy:
A weekend full of awesome hands-on learning
Out-of-the-box problem solving
Exploration of familiar and unfamiliar tools
Using familiar materials in unfamiliar ways
Unique inventions and experiences
When people leave TinkerFest, we want them to believe in their inner tinkerer, and feel confident that they too possess the ability to create, make and innovate!
