All that is needed in a letter of nomination is a description of For CITIZEN OF THE YEAR 2014 the volunteer work done on behalf of the community. The My name is: more information, the better. The Candidate’s activities that meet the criteria as described are: The award can go to anyone whose work has been focused inside of Jefferson County. The work must be volunteer only, not a paid position. The award goes to those whose work was most notable in 2014, but it can also take into account other years of volunteer activity. Nominees can be a couple, but not a group or organization. The Citizen of the Year committee consists of two representatives from all the area’s major service clubs – Port Townsend Noon Rotary, Sunrise Rotary, Port Townsend Kiwanis, Port Townsend Soroptomists and East Jefferson County Rotary. The Committee is organized and chaired by the Jefferson County Chamber of Commerce. The nominations for the Citizen of the Year will be announced in January.
