Sheri Mae Kalman of San Jose, daughter of Dora Kalman of Los Angeles and the late Nat Kalman, and Mikhail Alex
Frumkin of San Jose, son of Valentina Frumkin of Moscow and the late Alexander Frumkin, have announced their
engagement. They plan to marry March 17 in Los Angeles.
The bride-to-be, who received a bachelor's degree in musicology at U.C. Santa Barbara, is assistant director of
development at Santa Clara University. She is the sister of Mark Kalman and Alan Kalman of Los Angeles, and the
granddaughter of Anne and Nathan Svardloff and Sarah and Sam Kalmanowitz.
Her fiancé, who received a doctorate in computer science from the Russian Academy of Science, is a software design
engineer and member of the Moscow Mathematics Society and New York Academy of Sciences. He is the grandson of
