submitted by David Pence Peter George Katsarakes Born in Peabody on September 21, 1923, Peter Katsarkes served as a Sergeant and Pplatoon leader in the U.S. Navy from 1943 to 1946. He was a foot soldier in General George S. Patton’s tank corps and participated in the D-Day invasion in France. He also participated in the Battle of the Bulge and the Arden Forest capmpaign.
