Juan Du Juan.du.3@asu.edu EDUCATION Ph. D. Medical Immunology June 2008 Medical School,Shandong University, China. Dissertation: HBV core protein downregulated TRAIL-induced apoptosis through decreasing DR5 expression. (a successive postgraduate and doctoral program) Advisor: Dr. Wensheng Sun (Director of institute of Immunology) B.S Clinical Medicine June 2003 Xinxiang Medical College, China PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE 2003– 2008 Graduate Research Institute of Immunology, School of Medicine, Shandong University, China Pursued research to clarify the different effects of HBV encoding proteins on TRAILinduces apoptosis and our findings may help clarify the roles of imbalanced apoptosis in the pathogenesis of hepatitis B infection. This project was funded by NSFC and was executed in collaboration with Youhai Chen (University of Pennsylvania). Identified the effects of HBc protein on TRAIL-induced apoptosis. Designed and constructed pGAPZa-sTRAIL Vector to express and purify TRAIL protein in picha yeast. Analyzed samples using correlative Confocal microscope and TUNEL, qPCR, FCS, IHC ,Western blot ,Cell-based assays and mouse models. Teaching Assistant: Lectured experimental class (~45 undergrad, 2 hours class every week) 2008 – present Research Staff and Scientific Facility Supervisor Central Lab of Qianfo Shan Hospital, Jinan, China Worked in a 14 staff member Center of Shandong Qianfo Shan hospital, and managed all of the instrument( microscopy, qPCR instrument et al.) and developed new application. Explored the mechanism of HBc protein modulating microRNA . 2013 – 2014 Visiting Scholar Center for Personalized Diagonostics ,Biodesign Institute, Arizona State University,USA JOURNAL PUBLICATIONS Juan Du, Xiaohong Liang, Yugang Liu, et al.
