Family Pedigree We have examined examples of pedigrees during class, now you will construct one for your own family. You must choose one genetic trait that you can trace through at least three generations. The trait that you select must show some variation within the family members, be observable and display characteristics of a completely dominant or recessive trait. For example; you should not choose a trait for tongue rolling if all members of your family can roll their tongue. Some possible traits that you may want to consider are: tongue rolling, widow’s peak, hitch-hiker’s thumb or colorblindness. Guidelines: Pedigree should be displayed on at least an 11 X 14” paper.
