OBJECTIVE:
The ISPOR Turkish SCP Chapter is established as a sub-organization of the Turkish
Society of Clinical Pharmacology to improve the knowledge of and introduce
pharmacoeconomy into the drug regulation-approval-reimbursement procedures in Turkey.
MISSION:
To provide an environment where researchers, healthcare practitioners, and decisionmakers interested in pharmacoeconomics and outcomes research can share their
knowledge.
Act as a resource at a local level for individuals interested in pharmacoeconomics and
outcomes research.
The mission of this chapter overlaps with the mission of the Turkish Society of Clinical
Pharmacology and therefore it is supported by the society as well as by the members of
the society.

AFFILIATION
This ISPOR Turkish SCP Chapter is an affiliate chapter of the International Society of
Pharmacoeconomics and Outcomes Research.
MEMBERSHIP
The majority of the organizers of the ISPOR Turkish SCP Chapter are also members of
the Turkish Society of Clinical Pharmacology; however members from the pharmaceutical
industry and especially members from the regulatory agencies are more than welcome to
share their knowledge with the group.
MEMBERSHIP CRITERIA:
Members of the Turkish Society of Clinical Pharmacology are automatically members of
the ISPOR Turkish SCP Chapter.
Active membership is open to any individual who has achieved 18 years of age.
The rule for getting a member of the chapter is simple and needs a written application to
the Executive Committee of the ISPOR Turkish SCP Chapter. After approval by the
Executive Committee the individual gets her/his membership status.
Membership and exit from the membership is voluntary. Withdrawal from the membership
of the organization is free and a written explanation for withdrawal is appreciated.
The members of the organization have equal rights, which are:
Each member has one vote for the election
Take part in the activities of the organization
Being a member of the executive committee

PROCEDURES
ISPOR TURKISH SCP CHAPTER is a sub-organization of the Turkish Society of Clinical
Pharmacology which is a recognized society in Turkey.
The first steps for the Chapter members will be to organize monthly meetings in which
current issues are discussed and optimal solutions were shared with corresponding
groups.
Executive committee meetings will be held at least every two months. For certain issues
additional meetings may be held.
There will be annual general meetings in which studies are presented, discussed and
general opinion is shared. These meetings may be held as separate meetings or as cojoint meeting with ISPOR meetings or Turkish Society of Clinical Pharmacology
conferences.
DUTIES OF OFFICERS
PRESIDENT
The President of the ISPOR Turkish SCP Chapter:

Conducts and presides over all meetings of the ISPOR Turkish SCP Chapter

Represents the ISPOR Turkish SCP Chapter when called upon to do so

Appoints an individual to any office that becomes vacant subject to the ISPOR Turkish
SCP Chapter Executive Committee approval

Provides a report of activities and financial transaction to the ISPOR Board of Directors
annually
The office of the President is open to any member of the ISPOR Turkish SCP Chapter
PRESIDENT-ELECT
The President-Elect of the ISPOR Turkish SCP Chapter:

Succeeds to the office of the President upon completion of a one-year term of PresidentElect.

Conducts and presides over all meetings of ISPOR-C in the absence of the President.

Assists the President with the responsibilities of the ISPOR Turkish SCP Chapter
The office is open to any member of ISPOR Turkish SCP Chapter
THE GENERAL SECRETARY
The General Secretary of the ISPOR Turkish SCP Chapter:

Records the minutes of the ISPOR Turkish SCP Chapter Executive Committee meeting.
Keeps an official copy of the minutes for records and emails a copy to:
mdsmith@ispor.org.

Keeps and maintains the ISPOR Turkish SCP Chapter.

Handles ISPOR Turkish SCP Chapter ISPOR-C correspondence as necessary
The office is open to any member of ISPOR Turkish SCP Chapter
TREASURER
The Treasurer of the ISPOR Turkish SCP Chapter:

Is responsible for any financial transactions of the ISPOR Turkish SCP Chapter

Keeps and makes available to the members of the ISPOR Turkish SCP Chapter and the
ISPOR Board of Directors a record of all monies received and spent by the ISPOR
Turkish SCP Chapter

Reports the financial status of the ISPOR Turkish SCP Chapter at meetings

Assists the President in the preparation of an annual budget

Oversees the financial activities of the ISPOR Turkish SCP Chapter
The office is open to any member of the ISPOR Turkish SCP Chapter
ELECTION
The active members of the organization elect the Executive Committee officers.
Elections are done every year in January.
Officers may be elected for several terms.
ELECTION PROCEDURES:
The ISPOR Turkish SCP Chapter Executive Committee (President, Vice President,
President-Elect, Secretary and Treasurer) appoints an Election Committee.
The Election Committee solicits nominations.
Elections are held.
The new ISPOR Turkish SCP Chapter President informs the ISPOR Board of Directors of
the newly elected officers. The names of the newly elected officers are emailed to:
mdsmith@ispor.org.
AMENDMENTS
Any active member or officer of the ISPOR Turkish SCP Chapter may propose
constitutional amendments.
A proposed amendment to this or new Constitution should become binding after receiving
a two-thirds majority of the total voting membership of the ISPOR Turkish SCP Chapter.
INDEMNIFICATION
ISPOR Turkish SCP Chapter will indemnify ISPOR from liability for injury or damage, cost
or expense resulting from or which arises out of or in connection with the use by the
ISPOR Turkish SCP Chapter of the ISPOR name, logo, or arising from the relationship or
affiliation between the parties.
