Bibliography: _____ / 10


_____ Student did not cite “Google” or another search engine as a source. “Google” takes you to sources. Cite the source the image or
information actually came from.
_____ Bibliography is typed, not hand-written.

_____ Student used at least two separate sources of information.

_____ Student did NOT use Wikipedia as a source of information.

it’s simply not reliable.)
Technology and visuals: _____ / 5

Español III, Unidad 2
Presentación Cultural – Argentina
Nombre__________________________________________________________
You will have learned much about the culture of Argentina by the end of this unit. Some things we will talk about quite a bit in
class and other topics will be only mentioned briefly.
To enhance your cultural knowledge of Argentina, the oral assessment for this unit will be a presentation for the class about
person, place, or theme you will choose from a list of culturally relevant topics that Sra. Grunder will provide for you. Every
student in this class will choose a different topic, and the presentations will be spread out over five class periods during this
unit. You will likely have some control over when you will give your presentation.
1. Choose a topic about which you would like to learn a bit more. Consider what will be of high interest to you and your
classmates. It is possible to choose a topic that is not specifically on this list, but you must please clear your idea with Sra.
Grunder before you proceed.
2. Research your topic and prepare a two-minute presentation in Spanish that you will present to the class on your designated
day. You must show evidence of your research in your presentation; that is, the information you deliver must go beyond
what the average person might already know.
3. Your sources should be cited. Turn in your bibliography with your rubric on presentation day. (It doesn’t have to be long –
you might only have two sources. That’s OK – you just have to let me know what those sources are.)
4. You must include visual aids to enhance your presentation for your audience. You can use any media you chose, but be sure
that the visuals are easily seen by students in every desk in the room and make sure they enhance and reinforce your spoken
message. There can be no words on your visuals except for titles, which should be written in Spanish.
5. You may use note cards during your presentation, but you are limited to three, and each note card can have no more that 25
words on it. I suggest you write down key words of your outline. You won’t be able to write everything you need to say. I
will collect these note cards at the conclusion of your speech.
6. Practice, practice, and practice some more! I suggest you plan to say a little more than you expect to have to, because when
people are nervous they speak faster than normal! You must fill the whole two-minute time frame or your grade will be
prorated according to how long you actually did speak.
Use the following checklist as you are preparing for your in-class presentation. These are Non-Negotiables and
must all be accounted for in order for your project to be graded.
_____ I have chosen a topic that is of high interest and relevant to me and my classmates.
_____ I have prepared note cards to help me during my presentation, but I have no more than 3 note cards, and there are no more than 25 words on each card. If
you exceed this limit, you will have to re-do the presentation with properly formatted note cards and take a 5-point penalty. Also, you cannot substitute a
piece or pieces of paper for note cards. You must have actual index cards if you want to use them for your presentation.
_____ My presentation is two minutes long. (There is a 15-second grace period for exceeding the two-minute limit.)
_____ I rehearsed my presentation numerous times before I had to present it to class. It will not sound like I’m hearing my voice present the information for the
first time.
_____ I have incorporated visuals that enhance the presentation. There are no words on my visuals except for titles (no more than 5 words), which should be
written in Spanish. The audience will gain greater understanding of the content of my presentation through the visuals. The lettering and images are big enough
to be seen by any student from his/her desk.
_____ If I am using technology during my presentation I have already made sure that my files are loaded and operational on the L Drive in Sra. Grunder’s Spanish
III folder. This will be done before the class in which I will present, or I will take a 5 point penalty.
_____ I have not used a translation program in any way to help me complete my project, nor have I lifted words or phrases in Spanish directly from any
website or any other source. To do so would be in violation of the academic honesty policy and would result in the grade of “0” for this project.
_____ I have submitted a typed bibliography for the sources I used to do research for my project. (*See the specific bibliography requirements on the back of the
rubric page.) I have cited the sources for all material, including images.
