Selection of Minority Websites in Germany

I have listed the main websites of the five Diaspora communities that are, in my impression,
most present in the German public discourse. None of them are EU member states. Of
course there is much more on the internet, but one would need precise categories to be able
to conduct a useful selection.
While the Turkish and Vietnamese sites are all bilingual, the Russian and Polish portals are
mostly published in their respective mother tongues. One reason for this difference in terms
of the use of language might be, that the Turkish and Vietnamese communities have settled
in Germany for three generations by now, while migrants from Russia and Poland have only
started to come to Germany in large numbers by the late 80s.
Except for the Russian www.ostrovok.de and the Turkish www.ayinti.de, the sites are very
similar in design and content. Most of them combine broad information on the community life
in Germany and on the political situation at home with the possibility for chat and interaction.
They usually don’t emphasise a specific topic.
The Jewish websites are somehow outstanding, as their scope is more intellectual and more
concerned with cultural and religious issues and the question of Jewish identity and history.
