NASHVILLE, Tenn. (January 16, 2012) - Centerre Healthcare Corporation, a leading provider of inpatient acute rehabilitation services, announces the recent appointment of William C. Bridges, M.D. to the position of National Medical Director. Dr. Bridges received the appointment to lead the national team of Medical Directors who are currently serving in the company’s inpatient rehabilitation hospitals during Centerre’s recent National Medical Director Conference held in Nashville, TN. Dr. Bridges replaces the former National Medical Director, Dr. Peter Rappa, who served in this capacity from 2009 – 2011. In this roll, Dr. Bridges will be working with the company’s team of Medical Directors on the advancement of the rehabilitation medical model in order to continue providing superior clinical outcomes across the Centerre network. Current initiatives include the enhancement of specialty programs such as Brain Injury, Spinal Cord Injury, and Stroke Rehabilitation; participation in regulatory and legislative initiatives affecting comprehensive medical inpatient rehabilitation; and assisting the Company in identifying and recruiting Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation physicians to serve as Medical Directors, Program Medical Directors and to serve on the National Physician
Council.

William C. Bridges, M.D. is a board certified physician by the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. He earned his medical degree from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School at Dallas in 1997. Following his residency, Dr. Bridges focused on acute inpatient rehabilitation within the Dallas/Ft. Worth area. Prior to coming to the Texas Rehabilitation Hospital of
Fort Worth as Medical Director, he worked closely with Texas Health Harris Methodist Fort Worth and their rehabilitation unit.
