REGULATIONS
This competition is organized under the rules of the AU.
REGISTRATIONS AND CHANGES
All teams have to be registrated on forhand.
Composition of teams (changes):
Changes can be made in the order of the runners, name of participants etc. The changes within a
team have to be reported at the trouble desk before 12.00 on Saturday June 21st. If not, a team can
be disqualified.

CATEGORIES
There are 8 different categories.
A. Amsterdam Ekiden for athletic clubs
(Affiliated with the AU or foreign teams IAAF – sport licence required).
1. Men
2. Women
(mixed teams are allowed, but are not eligible for the title)
B. Amsterdam Ekiden for companies
(People who work at the same company).
1. Women
2. Men
3. Mixed (at least 1 person of the other sex)
C. Amsterdam Ekiden for associations (everything except for athletic clubs and companies)

3. Mixed (at least 1 person of the other sex)
COMPOSITION of the TEAMS
* The team consists of 6 people.
* The teams for the Amsterdam Ekiden can be formed with athletes of the same sex or mixed.
* It is not allowed tot register in two different teams. Who does not comply with this rule does not
qualify for the podium.
* Each participant can only run one relay. Who does not comply with this rule does not qualify for the
podium.
* The name of the team may be chosen freely
* The teams from athletic clubs are composed with only athletes from the same club. A team that
consists of people from different athletic clubs falls under the category of associations.
* An athletic club, an association, a company, a school…, can participate with more than one team. In
this case the difference between the teams will be indicated with a number or an alternative name.
* Upon registration, the teams and the order in which the participants will run must be determined.
Changes must be reported tot the registration office.
* A team, pre-registrated, but incomplete on the day of the match, may be completed with substitutes,
if one reports this to the registration office.
TASUKI - CHIP –RACE NUMBERS
* Race numbers must be worn on the chest. The last number on the race number defines the running
order.
* The ‘’Tasuki’’ is a sash, which is used as a baton.
* The ‘’Tasuki’’ and the race numbers with chip will be given to the team captain at the registration
desk ‘pre-registration’.
* The chip, which is made available by the organisation and sticks to the back of the race number, is
the only valid one.
START
Apart from the start for the start runner there will be 3 transition zones for the next 5 transitions.
TRANSITION ZONE - ARRIVAL
The Tasuki must be worn from the shoulder, diagonally over the chest, to the hip. The handover of the
Tasuki must be done within the transition zone. Runners that run two laps (10 km) pass in lane 1,2,3
and 4. The transition zones are located in lane 5, 6, 7 and 8. Only runner, whose teammates are in the
stadium, can take place in the transition zones, without hindering other participants.
The mats that record the electronic time of your chip are located at the entrance and exit of the
Olympic Stadium. The chip sticks to the back of the race number.
COURSE
The course exists of one lap of 5 km and 1 lap of 7,195 km.
VARIA


Teams who do not comply with these rules will be disqualified and will not be entitled for any
reward.
Every participant declares to have read and accepted the rules of the Amsterdam Ekiden.
