Thursday 15th November 2012
Today we travel along the east coast stopping at the Moeraki Boulders – an unusual
formation that dates back millions of years to Dunedin known for its Scottish heritage
and Victorian and Edwardian architecture

Friday 16th November
This morning you are free to explore the city on foot, you may wish to include a visit
to the Otago Settlers Museum
Option 1: Albatross Colony $85.00
This morning visit the world’s only mainland Royal albatross colony. Take a tour to
the observatory where you are able to view these wonderful birds with their 3 metre
wingspan.
Duration 4.00hrs (2hr travel return) Minimum of 5 persons required.
This afternoon we drive to the south of the South Island and the most Southern city in
the World – Invercargill.

Saturday 17th November
Today we embark on the ferry to New Zealand’s third largest island - Stewart Island,
most of the island is part of Rakiura National Park. A local guided bus trip gives us
an insight into this national treasure. This afternoon cruise from Paterson Inlet to
Ulva Island, a renowned wildlife sanctuary. A nature guide will take us for a

fascinating walk where we are able to view diverse plants and abundant bird life,
including rare and endangered species. Return to Invercargill this afternoon.

Sunday 18th November
Today we travel through Otago region to the hub of the South “Queenstown”
Explore Queenstown your way today and tomorrow, or select from the following
options:
Option 2: Lake Whakatipu $90
This afternoon board the TSS Earnslaw steamship on scenic Lake Whakatipu to
Walter Peak Sheep Station (afternoon tea included at the homestead) Watch
demonstrators shear sheep along with sheep dogs working with the stock
Duration 3 hrs
Tonight we ride the Gondola (one of the steepest cableways in the world) to our
Skyline Gondola restaurant for a NZ 5 course buffet dinner whilst taking in alpine
panoramic views of Coronet Peak and the Remarkables.

Monday 19th November
Option 3: Milford Sound (morning): $500
Fly over alpine scenery, lush rainforest and finally Milford Sound. Transfer to a
luxury vessel for a cruise the full length of Milford Sound. The vessel provides
excellent viewing and plenty of time available to enjoy the waterfalls, rainforest,
mountains and wildlife. Return flight to Queenstown. (weather permitting)

Option 4:Alpine wilderness safari $240 (afternoon)
Jet boating through an ever-changing river system with views of snow-capped
mountains, native forest and waterfalls; a guided walk through ancient forest followed
by a 4 wheel drive back through a scenic back road. Duration 6 hrs
Option 5: Wine trail $200.00
Personal wine tour of boutique wineries in this region. Tastings and lunch included.
Also drive through the Kawarau Gorge learning about the early pioneering history of
this rugged region. Duration 5hrs
Option 6: Walter Peak Dining $135 (morning or afternoon)
A return cruise to Walter Peak High Country farm on the TSS Earnslaw, visitors are
welcomed at the Colonel’s Homestead where they are seated for a carvery style buffet
dinner with NZ specialities. Following dinner visitors have the option of a brief farm

show or relaxing at the bar before returning to Queenstown with a sing-along around
the piano on the return journey

Option 7. The Queenstown Combo Challenge $720
Fly over alpine scenery, lush rainforest and finally Milford Sound. Transfer to a
luxury vessel for a cruise the full length of Milford Sound. The vessel provides
excellent viewing and plenty of time available to enjoy the waterfalls, rainforest,
mountains and wildlife. On your return flight, fly into the beautiful Lord of the Rings
setting of the Glenorchy valley where you will be met by the Dart river jet company.
A 4 wheel drive through a back scenic road will take you to an ancient forest where
you will have a guided walk to the Dart river where you will be
met and transferred to your jet boat where you will travel through an ever-changing
river system with views of snow-capped mountains, native forest, waterfalls and even
to our own Matterhorn.
Duration 10hours (If flying is cancelled because of weather you will still be booked
into the afternoon Dart River Jet option.)

Tuesday 20th November
This morning we drive to the historic village of Arrowtown and the Chinese Arrow
river settlement. We arrive at Lake Wanaka around noon.
Free time this afternoon in Lake Wanaka to explore the lakefront, gardens and town.

Wednesday 21 November
Today we travel through some beautiful scenery over the Haast Pass via Mt Aspiring
National Park to the West Coast and on to Franz Josef.
Option 8: Walk to terminal of Fox Glacier $65.00
A gentle guided walk to the front of Fox Glacier, this is the longest of the west coast
glaciers, the river of ice zig zags its way down the valley to end at 250metres above
sea level. (footwear supplied – a degree of fitness is required) Duration 2hrs.

Thursday 22nd November
Continuing our journey along the Coast we stop at Hokitika, which is a craft mecca,
where many local artisans work in natural mediums ie glass blowing and
greenstone/jade, producing quality works.

Friday 23rd November
Today we travel via the Paparoa National Park where we explore the famous pancake
rocks and blowholes from a boarded walkway around Dolomite Pt.
This afternoon we travel alongside the Buller river and then on to Nelson.

Saturday 24th November
Today is spent in the Abel Tasman National Park. Our coach takes us to Kaiteriteri
where we board our vessel and discover the world famous coastal track with golden
sand beaches. Choose whether you stay on the vessel for the day stopping at further
bays north, walk up to the waterfalls at Bark Bay (20mins each way) or a 2 hour hike
from Tonga to Bark Bay.
Option 9 Kayaking in Abel Tasman with a guide $75.00
As well as experiencing the above you can incorporate a relaxing 2 hour guided
paddle to the Split apple rock. Your guide will introduce you to safe paddling
techniques and settle you into a stable double kayak before paddling out.

Sunday 25th November
This morning we visit the Wearable Arts Museum. Artists compete every year in the
NZ WOW Awards using every material imaginable to adorn the body in wildly
wonderful ways. The Museum displays garments from the WOW Awards show in a
spectacular and unique gallery using theatrical lighting effects.
This afternoon we travel through Blenheim arriving in Kaikoura late afternoon

Monday 26th November
Option 10: Kaikoura Whalewatching $175.00
Board your vessel at Kaikoura to explore a marine environment so rich in nutrients
that it attracts some of the most magnificent creatures – the giant sperm whale,
Hectors dolphins, Dusky dolphins, NZ Fur seals and Albatrosses.
Duration 3 hours (weather permitting)
This afternoon we travel inland to Hanmer Springs where we have time to relax in the
Hot mineral pools in this alpine village

This morning we return to Christchurch. This City has been devastated by 2 recent
earthquakes so sightseeing will be limited.

Wednesday 28th November
This morning you are transferred to the Christchurch airport for your flight to our
Capital City Wellington. On arrival we discover this vibrant city with an orientation
drive including Mt Victoria lookout. We take a cable car ride to the Botanical
Gardens and visit the famous interactive “Te Papa Museum”.

Thursday 29th November
Today we continue our journey north to Lake Taupo, the largest lake in New Zealand
and a popular destination. After having time to discover this area we travel through
to Rotorua “the cultural centre of New Zealand”
Option 12: Tamaki Maori village (Evening) $130
A trip back in time – you are escorted from your hotel to the village where you will
be welcomed in the Maori traditional greeting, be guided through the village, enjoy a
hangi (Maori feast) and be entertained by a Maori Concert Party.

Friday 30th November
This morning we visit Te Puia, a unique geyser land and thermal wonderland with
boiling hot mud pools. Visit the Kiwi house and the Maori Arts & Crafts Centre
where you are able to view traditional carvers and weavers at work.
This afternoon we discover the oldest village “Ohinemutu” with St Faiths Church
where Christ is depicted as a Maori walking on water Lake Rotorua.

Saturday 1st December
Today we visit the world famous Waitomo Caves where a guide will escort you
through the limestone caves and the beautiful glow-worm grottos.

This afternoon we reach our final destination ‘Auckland the City of Sails’
Auckland is New Zealand’s largest city.

Sunday 2nd December
After an orientation drive of the City, parks and waterfront, we visit Skytower the
tallest building in the Southern Hemisphere where we ascend to the viewing platform
which offers amazing 360 degree views of Auckland and the Hauraki Gulf.
This afternoon ferry across the city harbour to the quaint village of Devonport
The tour concludes with dinner tonight
