Accommodation: Invercargill (B) Saturday 17th November Today we embark on the ferry to New Zealand’s third largest island - Stewart Island, most of the island is part of Rakiura National Park. A local guided bus trip gives us an insight into this national treasure. This afternoon cruise from Paterson Inlet to Ulva Island, a renowned wildlife sanctuary. A nature guide will take us for a 1 fascinating walk where we are able to view diverse plants and abundant bird life, including rare and endangered species. Return to Invercargill this afternoon. Invercargill (D,B) Sunday 18th November Today we travel through Otago region to the hub of the South “Queenstown” Explore Queenstown your way today and tomorrow, or select from the following options: Option 2: Lake Whakatipu $90 This afternoon board the TSS Earnslaw steamship on scenic Lake Whakatipu to Walter Peak Sheep Station (afternoon tea included at the homestead) Watch demonstrators shear sheep along with sheep dogs working with the stock Duration 3 hrs Tonight we ride the Gondola (one of the steepest cableways in the world) to our Skyline Gondola restaurant for a NZ 5 course buffet dinner whilst taking in alpine panoramic views of Coronet Peak and the Remarkables. Accommodation: Wanaka (D,B) Wednesday 21 November Today we travel through some beautiful scenery over the Haast Pass via Mt Aspiring National Park to the West Coast and on to Franz Josef. Option 8: Walk to terminal of Fox Glacier $65.00 A gentle guided walk to the front of Fox Glacier, this is the longest of the west coast glaciers, the river of ice zig zags its way down the valley to end at 250metres above sea level. Our coach takes us to Kaiteriteri where we board our vessel and discover the world famous coastal track with golden sand beaches. Choose whether you stay on the vessel for the day stopping at further bays north, walk up to the waterfalls at Bark Bay (20mins each way) or a 2 hour hike from Tonga to Bark Bay.
