We help the Government understand international developments and how they affect Australia. ONA is as an independent agency directly accountable to the Prime Minister. ONA assesses and analyses international political, strategic and economic developments for the Prime Minister and senior ministers in the National Security Committee of Cabinet. ONA coordinates Australia's foreign intelligence activities and evaluates the effectiveness of Australia's foreign intelligence effort and resourcing. People and Development Section ONA is seeking an experienced psychologist to be part of a small team responsible for coordinating a range of functions related to people management. The key focus areas of this position include coordinating and undertaking all aspects of psychological assessment, support and development of wellbeing related projects- including the promotion and enhancement of the agency employee assistance program, organisational research and considerable collaboration internally and externally to the organisation. The successful candidate will have excellent interpersonal skills and be highly motivated and organised with a proven record of delivering quality outcomes. This Vacancy ONA is seeking a dynamic self-motivated person who will be responsible for the provision of psychological services in support of the business objectives of the Office of National Assessments. Role Responsibilities Perform a range of psychological assessments and provide verbal and written analysis that integrates information gained from a range of resources; Undertake case formulation and hypothesis testing; Manage ongoing maintenance and aftercare of individuals to support security requirements, including participating in the agency equivalent of a Management Review Board; Facilitate the ONA Psychological Services Strategic Plan, in collaboration with the Director People and Development; Lead on the review and development of policy related to psychological services; Manage and promote staff support services, provide staff counselling and collaborate in the development of staff wellbeing programs in accordance with the strategic direction of the organisation; Undertake research, project work and provide analysis on current psychological trends in organisational health, security psychology and staff wellbeing related areas; Build and sustain relationships with internal and external stakeholders to facilitate effective communication and progress business outcomes; Provide other services and specialist input to management and stakeholders on behavioural science related issues on request. Office of National Assessments Candidate Information Kit Page 2 of 3 Key attributes To be successful in these roles you will need these qualities: Demonstrated extensive experience in assessment and case formulation in an evidence-based practice framework; Demonstrated ability to communicate the meaning of psychological assessments outcomes to enhance organisation functioning; Understanding of the role of psychology in a security and intelligence environment; Provide psychological support and direction across multi-disciplinary roles to enhance individual and organisational functioning; Strong communication and interpersonal skills across a range of forums; verbally and written; Proven ability to be self-directed; and Well-developed collaboration skills and a demonstrated ability to work well in teams. Essential Master’s degree in Clinical, Forensic or Organisation Psychology; 2 years post- graduate clinical experience; and Eligibility for full registration with the Australian Health Professionals Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
